Carbyte (DFM disabler for 2024) limited giveaway

I just submitted a ticket for issues. On a drive to Wal-Mart this morning, the DFM never disabled, even though I got the truck over 40mph multiple times on my drive. Even worse this time, the truck turned off at a stop light, which has never happened since I installed this weeks ago.

My unit has the latest firmware and I've done the factory reset, unplug and plugging back in as well. I just ended up unplugging it altogether until I got parked. Once I got to the store, I plugged it back in and everything worked fine on the drive back, but I'm still a bit concerned that it's acting up like this as it has been such an awesome item and hasn't given me any issues until this week.

I have been following this thread since day one. Thanks to the moderators for not removing this as spam, and thanks to Carbyte for reaching out in this forum.
After looking into the device, I pulled the trigger, and mine arrived two days ago. I installed it that day, and everything worked as advertised. Later that day I saw the firmware update post, and immediately updated. After two days of driving, I have found everything to worked perfect.

I do not like the start/stop feature of my new 2024 Yukon XL AT4, and I have been told for years that the AFM programming is responsible for lifter failures in several GM engines. My son graduated from college last year, and I gave him my six year old Yukon Denali with less than 80k miles. Ten days ago the lifters on that vehicle failed. He is currently working through it. I don't expect Carbyte, or anyone for that matter to guarantee that the device will prevent damage, but for the price I am willing to give it a try. Even my dealership mechanic says that the AFM is extremely problematic.

I am sure that I am doing something wrong, but I have found that I have to "reconnect" the device every time I get into the vehicle. If there is a way to configure the device to automatically reconnect every time I get in, that would be perfect. "Fire and Forget". Please advise. (yes my phone is always with me)

Thank you all for your comments, and thanks to the forum and Carbyte.

Recently received the Carbyte unit for a ‘22 at4 w/ 6.2l and there were several updates available. For those that updated the unit should I do them in order or just jump to the latest version? Does it capture the previous updates and apply as well?

I want to buy this product but my AMP Research power steps are using my OBD 2 port. Would the Carbyte device work with an OBD 2 splitter?
It appears the PowerStep module is only using the OBD port for power, so connecting it in parallel with Carbyte should not cause any issues.

In fact, Carbyte can work alongside many different OBD connected devices through a splitter (Zee921, another user on this forum, is using it alongside dash cams). The only exceptions are devices using the OBD port to communicate with the truck's systems -- other OBD connected disablers, OBD scanners, and OBD vehicle trackers will all interfere with Carbyte’s function.

You only need to install the latest version, as each update includes all of the previous improvements.

@Carbyte I'm lazy here and don't want to scroll through 10 pages of threads. At least I'm honest about it, right? ha! If I plug your device in, does it leave any footprint whatsoever on the truck's computer systems that are identifiable, and potentially usable to deny a future engine warranty claim?

So this question has been asked before in one of the earlier pages. They claim it does not leave a "footprint" at all. They said as soon as it's unplugged, it's like it was never there, and therefore should not be a factor in any warranty claim.
I just figured I'd chime in since it usually takes them a couple days to respond back on this forum.

Thank you for handling sanny651's question!

Leo581 is right—Carbyte doesn’t leave any evidence of disabling features on your truck and won’t void your warranty. It also doesn’t make any permanent changes to your vehicle.

I Just got my 2025 AT4 6.2 on Jan 28/2025, I would love to try the Carbyte unit. Super excited in doing more mods . We've been having negative degree weather up here in the last few days. I wonder how this unit would perform

Congratulations on your new truck!

All of the Carbyte units for the giveaway have been claimed but we would appreciate hearing your feedback and any questions on here if you decide to purchase Carbyte. In regards to the sub-zero temperatures, Carbyte should operate without any issue.
