New seats in 2024 AT4 HD

Yup - pulling a boat from Texas to MA next week and dreading it! Gotta get this done in the future.

Ok… my 18
And 20 dodge seats were better imo….. my Kats in my 08 dodge were and still are fantastic color has faded a bit but they look and feel
Great still to this day. I just did a 21
Hour straight through drive to ND and then
Back 2 days later with a 4 hour stop. These seats when it was new I felt sucked. After you put 20k the truck they feel much better even comfortable I would say. I drive more than most that are not driving professionally I would say and no one as A passenger has ever complained. To each their own,but let’s be honest nothing will Ever Be as comfy as a 2000s GM truck. Katz are Amazing, maybe these trucks have made people Soft and they forget riding in an old straight axel dodge where you didn’t have to worry about the seats lt was a kidney belt you wanted…. 20k in 6 months seats are not terrible but I would love to see what they look like re finished with Katz

New Member - and new 2025 AT4...

I've been working the seat issue for 2 weeks, and would love more detail on Master Chief BT's setup especially the foam work. Love the color combo he chose!

Here's what I've found...Regarding the Seat Bottom Only (Ventilated/Heated)
1. GM uses same seat bottom Foam Cushion, Spring, Frame in every 1500/2500 series truck they make in 2024-2025.
2. Leather in the Denali Ultimate is a different quality and softness.
3. 30 min drive in Ultimate = no pain vs. 30 min drive in AT4 = Pain
4. The quality, design, and softness of the Denali Ultimate is the only difference in the seats.
5. The foam could definitely be improved but simply changing the seat cover from the AT4 to a Denali Ultimate makes a world of difference. I think the Denali Ultimate cover is not as tight and therefore allows the cushion to expand and not be as firm.

@Master Chief BT would you mind messaging me the contact information for the shop in Tyler Tx that did your work. Love to replicate exactly what you / they did.

I agree with you on these seats, i will be looking into katzkin or the denali ultimate seat covers.

Wanted to get involved here.

I hated the seats in my 22HC 2500. And hate them in my 24 AT4 2500.

Yesterday I drove my tundra I sold my buddy to diagnose something for him. Those seats were 16 yrs old and I use to think hard.

They felt amazing lol. And they had adjustable thigh support. Brought me here.

Going to look for a local place.

But I really, really wish the seat lower was about 2” longer toward the back of my knees. I’ve got long legs and find I need to sit very high to get the pressure off the rear of my arse onto my butt/thighs.

I stopped by Freddie Louis' Auto in Huntsville and data dumped and discussed with his team yesterday. They are taking all inputs and discussing with Faries Upholstery out of Tyler Tx (did Master Chief BT's seats). Hopefully he will assist in a good solution for me.

I spoke with Katskinz yesterday and they referred me to a shop thats local that works with them. The Durafoam bottom is a $200 piece, and then the rear seat cover to match is $300. Its around $2100 installed.
The Seat Shop, maker of Durafoam seats does not make a seat bottom cushion for 24-25 GMC/Chevy 1500s yet. I spoke with them last week, and they were 2-3 months out at best. That said, I'd love to be wrong!!!

To be able to sit and enjoy my truck at this time is worth the $.

First, I appreciate all the insight and support!

I had an opportunity to swap vehicles this weekend, and due to the Seat issue, I made the switch. The dealer made this happen for me and loss was far less then cost to change seats. Moved to a Ford. The amount of money to "hopefully" address the seat issue in the AT4 was not worth it at this time.

What I will absolutely miss is the 3.0 Duramax, and the GMC Fit and Finish!!!

I'll still be on the board, because I imagine in the future I'll pick up another AT4 once the seats are solved....and my son loves them and will be in need of a vehicle in a few years.

Thanks again!

Let them work their magic….the Katzkin leather quality is amazing…nice and soft…and see if your installer will work some additional foam on the seat bolsters (flared out sides) and what a difference I think you will see immediately. Good luck and keep me posted.
So I got my driver's seat done at my local upholstery shop and although they weren't able to do exactly what I wanted within my budget (replace the foam and provide a new cover) they definitely made it so I no longer have any leg pain or numbness so that's a big win in my book. Could it be more "comfy"? Sure, but I'll take this over OEM any day. Here's a couple pics, the side by side pic of the new drivers seat (left) vs passenger (right) which was left untouched and then a close up of the drivers side. They shaved down the left bolster so it's not digging into my leg, eliminated that double stitch and then added another layer of foam to the front which offers a bit more leg support. For $500, I'm pretty happy.
