Carbyte (DFM disabler for 2024) limited giveaway

Just an FYI, If your truck has a ELO GPS tracker " Not sure on other tracking devices" the unit will not work. My ELO was dealer installed. I’m considering just disconnecting it as I think the benefit of disabling the DFM outweighs the tracker . I also may reach out to Range technology’s to see if their unit will work with a tracking device installed.
Is this an anti-theft device from GM?

does it void any gm warranties i have a 2025 at4 1500 and cant stand that start stop feature ,

It does not void any factory warranty. Just unplug the device before you take your truck in for warranty work.

Question for you...I just recently purchased and have been running the DFM disabler from Range on my 2023 6.2 AT4X.

One thing they call out (and had been annoying to drive with) is that the DFM will still engage when you're coming to a stop. Other than that, it's V8 all the time and the start/stop is also disabled.

With your product, is the DFM fully disabled, or will I still hear it kick in while coming to a stop?

Do you have to connect this in the app every time ?
You don’t need to connect the app every time. Simply having Carbyte plugged in disables AFM/DFM and Auto Start/Stop. The apps are there for when you want extra functionality, like checking diagnostic trouble codes.

Johnv76 is correct, Carbyte doesn’t void your warranty. In fact, it doesn’t make any permanent changes to your truck. Once unplugged there’s no trace that you were disabling anything.

Carbyte uses a different algorithm. Once it disables DFM, it will keep it fully disabled for the remainder of the ride, even when coasting or coming to a stop.

However, on the refreshed GM models like your 2023 6.2 AT4X, you need to travel at 40+ mph for at least a couple of seconds before Carbyte can disable DFM. Once you reach that speed, DFM will be fully disabled until you switch your engine off. If you never reach 40mph, the DFM will still be able to kick in.

Interesting to know. I'll have to give this some thought and decide if I want to switch over from the Range product...

I prefer the Carbyte option as it allows for easy removal encase the truck breaks down on the side of the road and don't have a longer period of time to remove the range product. With the Carbyte you can easily just unplug it and be done with it in seconds. It disables both the auto start / stop and DFM. Just need to hit 40mph for a few sec then it never turns back on until the truck is turned off. Great product, have been running it for around a month now, no issues, works perfectly, and would recommend this product to anyone.

Did you have the Range product as well before this Carbyte?

On my old stuck in had the pulsar lt. I have not tested the new range product.
Well...I just ordered this Carbyte product. I don't mind the Range as it's hidden behind the wheel liner, but I have not been happy with the DFM kicking in EVERY TIME I come to a stop. Not a huge fan of something being in the OBD port as I like stuff more "hidden," but it doesn't appear it'll be an eyesore and like you said, it will make things easier if I ever need to remove it. Plus I like the diagnostic feature. We'll see how it goes!

I don't even notice it. You won't be disappointed.

Question for the carbyte people; is there a downside to defeating the 0 cylinder coasting mode? Range claims you’re still putting fuel through the engine if you defeat the coasting mode. In coasting mode, are cylinders being deactivated through Dfm?
