2022 Refresh Order Experience

Reserved 10/21/21, ordered 1/29/22, accepted by GMC 4/12/22, truck built 5/9/22. Truck is currently still sitting in Mexico. Looked up the VIN and found out my dealer accidentally placed my order with the 6.2 and in black when I ordered the 3.0 in titanium rush metallic... Dealer stated it was their mess up and placed another order for me (will probably end up being a 2023). They are going to let me drive the first truck until my second one comes in. Did this happen to anyone else?
Same timeline as you except mine was built on 5/13/22. Looked up the vin. Mine got built in Indiana

Order scheduled for production 5/23/22
Order produced email received from GMC on 6/5/22

For those that have received a VIN can you request that from GMC chat or does the VIN need to come from the dealer?

Excited for the news. Hopefully my dealer will be receiving the vehicle soon.

GMC chat can tell you. Or if your truck has been produced, you can go on GMC’s site and and look through the “view inventory” section. Filter your dealer in the search options, and your truck should show up as in transit. Seems like once the trucks get their vins they automatically show up in view inventory regardless if they’re in transit or not. You can also see your window sticker once you’ve found your truck on that page which will have your vin on it.
 

GM Chat says my truck is in transit but won’t provide me with a VIN. They said as my delivery date comes closer my dealership will be able to provide it. I would think if it’s “in transit” it should already have one… Any dealers on here able to pull it from an order number? My dealership isn’t very quick at returning phone calls or keeping me updated.

GMC won't give you the VIN through chat due to security reasons. Your dealer should have the VIN.

Thinking a few weeks now for shipping to Carollton, GA.

@That 713 Drank & @Lumpy tagging you guys since you were both expecting to be built this past week. You should check for updates by texting 18004628782 as well as the online chat. The text is how I was able to get the VIN (5 minutes after I did the chat, so i'm not sure why they aren't providing the same info

Congrats!, What engine choice do you have?
6.2! White AT4, CC Short Bed, Sierra Safety Plus package, sunroof, NO tech package though. Anyone know how to track it's location by VIN? Tried to register with ONStar but they don't see it yet

I checked with Laura chat who had my sales guy contact me on Friday. He said the truck was WIP. So I would assume it would be done the next day but not sure. He said once he gets notice then he will have a much better idea on timing. Not sure if Silao or Indiana. Now that Diesel has gotten so expensive I'm wondering how much the shipping will end up costing me. IIRC the original estimate was about $2000. Guessing it will be 50% more now.
