2022 Refresh Order Experience

Same frustration for me. Mine built 5/2, sat in Mexico until this week. Now being shipped to Jax FL where it will sit until a carrier can deliver. It still does not show up anywhere. The dealer did confirm what Chat told me. They did give me an anticipated delivery date of 6/28 which does help.

My dealer nor the gmc chat could provide me with any ETA whatsoever. GM really should step up their game if they want to retain customers.

I have a feeling that sometimes GM can't guess on everything since so much is dependent on outside suppliers and contractors. The best they could do is give historically average days once out of the factory. I deal with these issues on another level and its a crapshoot. GM could do better at passing what they know though. So, we wait.

If UPS and Fed Ex can track and give a delivery date for a $10 package, GMC should be able to do it with a 50-100k vehicle.

Most of the delay I have been seeing is sitting in port(s). I believe several other folks have seen this. My dealer has been super responsive, and the emails from GM have actually been pretty good lately. I'm assuming my dealership set me up for this.

Truck has been sitting in Baltimore (I'm in VA) since ~5/17. The dealer has told me they are expecting it soon, but they are taking everything they hear with a grain of salt as truck drivers to deliver these things are in a huge shortage.

Built in early April, sat in Mexico for 3-4 weeks, now sitting in port for 3+ weeks.

I'm sure if GM could wrap these things up in a cardboard box and ship them UPS, they would :p

Also, I'm not sure if you all have seen the same thing... but Fedex has been really bad the last couple years. They are catching up a little in the last few months, but for a while there I just assumed anything sent Fedex was going to be delayed like 1-5 days.

Did you guys see this? I'm so happy mine delivered in time!!
In summary, chip shortages are still hard on GM, and these trucks will not be able to be ordered with the 6.2, It says it'll also affect orders already in the system!!

I’m not saying they’re perfect but at least you have a general idea of where your order is. The problem with GM seems to be nobody has any idea and then one day these trucks just show up at the dealer.

I wasn't taking a shot at you or anything, just doing a comparison of freight vs package carrier logistics.

It does totally suck that nobody knows where these things are :/ I know I'm frustrated, but I'm trying to be blindly confident that SOMEONE knows where it is.

That person is probably just sitting in a logistics office somewhere dealing with 20+ carriers/contractors, managing a couple hundred vehicles, and have no easy way of reporting their plans and estimates in a way that makes it back to the customer.

I work on lots of big enterprise systems and it always ends up being something like that :/

No change yet today for me on day 10 of target production week 5/30. Anybody else get news?

Mine is still in 4300 status in New Haven, IN. This has been the same status for the last two weeks. My dealer can't even pull it up on VINview or give me any ETA whatsoever. I don't believe my truck has been invoiced yet because it hasn't appeared on my dealer's website nor has a window sticker been generated.

Mine had a TPW of 5/30 and is in event code 4200 = shipped on train! Not to brag but you asked :). Hope yours moves soon!

also I got this info from texting GMC not the online chat. +1 (800) 462-8782

My TPW was also 5/30 and I’m at 4300 this morning. So it’s either on its way to a vendor for something like a bedliner or to distribution yard. Going to see if I can get my vin from the dealer yet. I’m pretty sure this happened because I was browsing the Chevy website yesterday and found a ZR2 near me that I was seriously considering pulling the trigger on 😄

Heard nothing different. My stated goal was possession by August so I am not getting too riled up yet. Wish they would at least tell me which factory is building it. Wonder if that is even decided yet.

My truck was built 5/9/22 in Mexico. My dealer told me a few days ago that it is still sitting down there and they will have no update on when it will make it on a train to the US.
