2022 Refresh Order Experience

New to the forum but wanted to post my timeline. Ordered my truck on 2/7. Order Accepted on 4/21 with a TPW of 5/2. Truck showed up at the dealership on 5/25. Absolutely love the truck and has already been put to good use. Got the Titanium Rush color and it is not very purple IMO. More gray and black and blue than anything.
Awesome truck man! I’ve got the same thing coming hopefully soon. Ordered 1/29, accepted 3/11, tpw 4/4 (Indiana plant was shut down), so I’m assuming it was built around the time of yours. Is your truck from Fort Wayne, Indiana or Silao Mexico?

For anybody worried about the Titanium Rush color, don’t be. I was getting nervous after seeing videos of it online. Another dealer near me got one in stock so I went to look at it today. The color is awesome. No purple at all even the blue hue is dark but isn’t as present as you’d think by pictures and videos. It’s a very hard color to explain without seeing.

Titanium Rush Metallic is purple...PURPLE!!! LOL!!

my truck is only a few states away at this point and should be local soon. The dealer said if there is a delay soon he will just get a driver to pick up the truck. The only thing I don't love so far is he is looking for me to pay the truck now before delivery seems a little odd

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Dealerships get paid more when the customer pays and/or takes delivery sooner.

no idea but basically he said if we get all the paper done they can slap on the running boards get it ceramic coated and i drive off next time i come

Mexico. I wasn't expecting it for another month based on what others were saying. Got here quick once it was built.

Dealer just called no more 6.2 for the rest of the year from GM if yours isn’t built you won’t get a 6.2 this year

Damn that sucks. Mine got built the week of the 5/13/22... Just waiting on delivery

Ordered: 5/11
Still no allocation

Just got a phone call from dealer saying GM isn't taking any more orders for the 2022 models for the 6.2l engine due to valve supplier constraint. I am not interested in the diesel so looks like I am waiting until the 2023 books open and hope the constraint is fixed.

Just saw a thread on another forum where new 2022 AT4 6.2l had lifter failure at 6,000 miles. Have to wonder if it's related.
I read (somewhere on here I think) they were cutting all new 2022 orders this week to prep for 2023 right? I mean at this point if you're ordering a 2022 it'll be outdated with the cadence of how new car model years work.

The dealer was still taking orders for 2022, in fact they just got the allocation today and went to order some of the trucks for people waiting when the alert come through that they could no longer order the 6.2. Missed it by a week. Oh well. Just hope the stupid thing doesn’t go up another 5k+ by the time my order goes in.

Reserved 10/21/21, ordered 1/29/22, accepted by GMC 4/12/22, truck built 5/9/22. Truck is currently still sitting in Mexico. Looked up the VIN and found out my dealer accidentally placed my order with the 6.2 and in black when I ordered the 3.0 in titanium rush metallic... Dealer stated it was their mess up and placed another order for me (will probably end up being a 2023). They are going to let me drive the first truck until my second one comes in. Did this happen to anyone else?

Waiting that long for your truck and now discovering the order was changed must be really upsetting. Mine was ordered first of the year, built week of 5/2 and still sitting in Mexico also. I was able to sit with the dealer to go item by item to order mine. Dealers should all do that as spending this much money should allow some personal service. The last I heard is everything is As Ordered with the exception of a couple chips that will be required once available. Good luck with the temporary New Truck!
