There are two updates out there. One for the OTA and one for a brake issue. They are vin specific so you may not need both.
The OTA is a long one. 3 plus hours.

I brought my truck in for an oil change last week and asked for any and all of latest software updates .
The service advisor indicated there was one available regarding the radio serial bus . It upgraded me from Android 10 to 12.
Everything seems more fluid now and I don’t have the radio cutout anymore upon startup .

I was a little surprised when I saw that the head unit was running Android 10. Glad to see them updating to and that it is smoother and fixed the audio cut outs.
I had my truck in for service last week and they told me about this. The service dude told me it’s an update for the infotainment system and radio. Said it would take a couple of hours and was done in 1 1/2 hrs. It seems to have fixed my Bluetooth connectivity but having issues with Apple Car Play now.

taking my truck in Wednesday because cruise does not work. May get a remote programmed, might as well bring this up too. Thank you for the heads up

Got mine done 2 weeks ago it took about two hours depending on how cloudy it is for internet service dealer said most updates will be done at night by gm when the truck is sleeping
Funny thing about cruise; I've only inadvertenly hit the cruise button a couple of times in the time I've owned this truck, which is not good, since I always want to be in control of this heavy monster while driving; is there a way to disable cruise control all together?

What is the update?
The Bulletin, N242435631, states that vehicles involved may be at risk for a battery drain following an update. Dealers are to verify SDGM and radio software and reprogram as necessary.
I had mine done on Friday (10/4). No noticeable differences. The reprogrammed the serial gateway module, the radio, and Radio file transfer via USB.
I'm guessing this issue is why we haven't really been getting OTA updates. Hopefully this is the last time we all have to visit the dealer just for an update.

CarPlay is good now. Just had to redo the process of linking up with CarPlay. Maps, contacts and text messaging are all working as they should.
