Hmm.. Thats a tough one

Not trying to sway you one way or another, but from my experiences so far, it appears mileage and road salt are the two biggest issues on my truck (mostly electronics). The fact that you drive yours very little, and probably take the best care of it of anybody on this site should be taken into consideration.

Im totally going to get an extended warranty. Nothing on this vehicle looks to be cheap if and when it breaks.

I went with the extended warranty on my truck. I plan to keep the truck as long as I can, so I wanted the piece of mind that I wont be forced to fix my truck if something breaks. I like working on cars/trucks, but I prefer it as a hobby and not a requirement to get to work on Monday.

I think it makes sense. Once we relocate to NV, I may be doing more miles, more vacations/drives to AZ and CA although we will have our other two vehicles for that, plus we may plan to drive my truck once or twice a year from Las Vegas to Whistler BC, a 3000 mile round trip including local driving, and although a two day drive with an overnight hotel stop, it will give me the flexibility of no airports, no car rentals and total freedom of travel. Renting a vehicle for extended periods during peak holiday season, can get pricey at my age. I know its in the future, no earlier than year end, however, its a lot to digest when making such a drastic change late in life, yet again, although, I'm a fighter and have been through worse.

Dropped my truck off this morning for the charge air cooler pump replacement. Hopefully this one lasts longer than 10k miles.

Picked up my truck from the dealership and drove 10 miles home. No check engine lights and the remote start is active again. Hopefully this dealership's work is better than my original one. $828 of work covered under warranty, thankfully. They also did my ground strap recall while it was in.

No nothing to report here!

I was so active on mods here, and now nothing. Everything about my truck, unfinished projects, parts accessories is packed and in storage until after we relocate to Las Vegas which seems like an eternity away. Took me almost two months to sort out my shop, discard unwanted stuff, and pack what I will, and think I'll need going forward. It takes time to review/dismantle/dispose off stuff, accumulated over the last 50 years, parting with a million memories, but it was time, heading towards the final 'past due' phase of our lives.

Nevertheless I'll be back! I'll have more time in Las Vegas, will finally retire with a smaller shop area for sure, yet have all the tools I'll need.
Although I sorted out over 4000sf of storage in our home, below is a before and after of the main shop area.

What did I do to my bar yesterday? Sad day but it’s the first step towards our prep to list our home. All parties and entertaining on hold for now. Realtors wanted me thin out the bar; one extreme to another. The stack on the left of the bar was in the cabinet below the bar sink. Moved it all to the shop garage floor and started packing. No idea where it will go in the next home; I may have to start a free al..hol stand in the next driveway or something.

I feel your pain! We are listing our house next month and I had to get a storage unit to hold some of "junk" that the realtor wanted us to "thin" out.

Happened only once in 1973 when during lunch, me an my buddy went across to the pub in Nottinghill Gate, London, drank 6 pints each of Lamot Beer, the 6% variety, ended up returning to work and we were both flat on the basement floor; we gor told off by the boss

I drive into pits to inspect MSHA sites for my company and inspect concrete plants for OSHA hazards. Had already hit a deer and two large concrete blocks. Had enough.

We have 2 new GMCs and will buy the extended warranties. Dealers want full price, has anyone managed to get a better price? Factory warranty only.
