Welcome.

$35 and change...

Prepared for the worst, hoping for the best - cleaned out my 2022 AT4 this morning, prepping her for 'the test' tomorrow on the 6.2. Hopefully (I think?) I'll be picking her up after work with a clean bill of health tomorrow evening.
Nothing to see here! New oil, filter, oil cap, and insert for owners manual. Still not sure if this outcome makes me happy?

Not today, it was Thursday (10/9), forgot to post but … I carried my new truck back to the dealer. Three days after I purchased the truck we had a lot of fog in the morning and I realized the drivers side mirror wasn’t defrosting or getting hot. The passenger side worked fine. The dealer says GM is saying to replace the drivers window switch first and if that doesn’t resolve it, then replace the mirror. They were supposed to have the switch overnighted but of course it did not come in the next day (yesterday).

Anyway it is a very minor inconvenience compared to the issues a lot of people have. I’ll save you guys the boredom of my ramblings but I could tell you some doozy stories of my luck with GM over the years, especially in the first week of ownership. This is the first GM I’ve bought in the last 5 trucks but I do realize all manufacturers have their issues and this one is very minor.

Christ all mighty, doesn't anyone have a dvm anymore? Is it just a parts cannon world.

Before I'd let them remove the door panel to replace the switch and possibly invoke other problems, I'd start with a voltmeter, it not hard to disassemble the mirror and see If'n there is current and the spade connectors. No current, then look at the door jamb wiring. Then start with the switch.

Unless gm knows of a bad switch pandemic. I haven't heard of a switch being bad yet.

These guys act like parts changers for sure. I’m very handy and know my way around vehicles including electrical pretty decent. I took it in because I just assumed (yea I know) it would be a simple mirror replacement. I should’ve know better of course.

I'm not dissing you, I'm dissing the service dept. Sorry if'n it came across as such.

You shouldn't have to touch your truck for 3 years, unless you wanted to.

Yes sir I understood, it is really a sad situation with most of the service departments for all brands. The guy I was dealing with was a super nice guy but acted like he had to call GM to ask if he could pop the hood LOL

Installed Dee Zee tailgate assist. Painted the 2 brackets black so they don’t show in the tailgate crack. No more bang when I hit the tailgate release.

Started grill and front bumper trim overhaul. I have the spotting, chipping black Vader chrome. Pulled off the 2 trim pieces, sanded, primed, and repainting. If I like the result will do rest of the grill.

You need to take your truck in. There is a torsion rod in there. It should NOT bang, but nice steady fall. I had the '21 LD fail and warranty repaired.
