What did you do to your AT4 today?

Good to know. Thanks. It doesn’t free fall there is some resistance, but still a bang. Same as the day I bought it new. I hate the dealership and the whole run around experience. If it has failed the DeeZee is cheaper at $20 and hopefully will last longer. When I hit the fob the tailgate opens nice and smooth to the bottom now.

What is it like to lift/close? The torque rod is designed to create resistance on the way down so it don't bang. And then it has the ability to help lift that damn heavy multipro.

I didn't know the '21 was broke, until I bought the '22. Once the wifey saw how easy it was to close, I was heavily requested to take it in and get it repaired. Happy wife, happy life! 😁

I think it must have some assist. I close it with one hand. There is some weight but with the whole kicker system and all it feels like it must have some weight reduction. I don’t think of it as heavy. I am lucky on the wife front. Mine refuses to drive it and hasn’t once since I bought it. She says it’s too big but she likes riding in it at least.

My wife "stole" the '21 LD Denali., after I got the 3500 and the 2500. Just as well, I really can't stand to be in the small thing now. 😁

She has over 100k on the yukon, but doesn't want a new one. Really only drives it for the "covered back" when going to Sam's during inclement weather.

Her daily driver was a '97 ¾ton GMC Suburban with the 454. Man, I miss that thing. No I don't.

Started grill and front bumper trim overhaul. I have the spotting, chipping black Vader chrome. Pulled off the 2 trim pieces, sanded, primed, and repainting. If I like the result will do rest of the grill.
Pretty happy with the results. Got the bumper trim pieces done and back on. Nice smooth finish and the paint has some metallic flake in it. Very close to the Original color, not exact. I wanted to keep a contrast color and not go black. Everything else is blacked out. Here is a photo of the stock vader grill with the new painted bumper insert. The grill has a little bit of a bronze tint to it. I think I am happy with it and will remove and paint the grill next week. The bumper inserts just pop off from the front. Looks like the chrome pieces on the grill are just clip on. So removing the grill then taking those off to sand and paint. Like the paint, good coverage, enamel, non fading.

Nothing to my truck, but hopefully something for it. Hauled some 20 foot long 2x12's to start replacing floor joists in my garage attic for some extra headroom. The man that built my garage in the 70's was a nice guy, but not much of a craftsman. The front part of the garage where the door is stands almost 8 feet, but the joists run parallel to the length of the garage and are supported by joists the rest of the way running the correct direction. They are then supported by a chunk of I beam suspended from the attic rafters. The plan is to pull the cobbled barn beam rafters back to about the woodstove and replace with 2x12's. Should gain me about 18" in headroom in the majority of the garage. I know this is somewhat off topic, but but we're all tinkerers at heart, and figured some of you might find it interesting. I got the first beam replaced with doubled 2x12's and joist hangers yesterday, but forgot to get a picture of the finished product.

Truck doing truck things!

First mod, installed Ruff liner for some back seat protection from the two pups.
I did the same 2 months ago for my new '25 AT4. Be careful rolling down the windows as the inserts can scrape aftermarket window film. I keep the back windows up. Also the inserts that cover the door lock stalks don't slide all the way into the window sill. Other that, I live Ruff Liners.

I added A pillar lights and rear bumper flood lights. The A Pillar mounts I bought from SDHQ Offroad out of Arizona, nice quality and great color pictures step by step instructions. The rear bumper I had a buddy help me line up the template to cut through the bumper. Nice having some bright lights while hooking trailers in the dark.

Dropped mine off at the dealer for the heated mirror issue again (3rd trip) but while there I also ordered the RC level kit with UCAs and 275/65R20 Toyo Open Country R/T Trails. I was not planning on doing this just yet (truck has 1100 miles on it) BUT, a guy in an F-350 towing a large enclosed trailer today decided to merge in my lane apparently without looking and I had to to ditch to the right with 4 passengers. It could have been devastating for us so I’m super thankful the only damage was the passenger front tire and rim hitting a raised concrete drainage cap. So new tires it is and the wheel I’ll just have to live with for now.

Greetings all! Not new to the forum (been lurking for a couple months), but here's my first post. Just bought a 2026 GMC Sierra AT4 a couple of weeks ago, and already had a ton of mods waiting in their boxes for this truck to arrive. Less than a week old, I installed RC's leveling kit with new UCA's. I figured as long as I was removing the factory struts, I might as well replace the Ranchos with Bilstein's on all 4 corners as well. This made a HUGE difference. Being that the Bilstein's had built-in adjustability, I skipped installing the strut spring spacer that comes with the RC kit, as the ring clip on the top position was essentially the same measurement as the strut spacer. I did however, still use the lower spacers that go underneath the struts on the lower control arms to achieve that 1.75"+ lift/leveling. As most already know, it's crazy how fragile and dainty the stock UCA's are when compared to RC's. I also LOVE the red pop.

P.S. Anyone in the market for brand new Rancho strut shocks along with the rears? ;)

Welcome.

There are quite a few Ranchos available I bet! 😄
