No Sound from infotainment center or turn signals... HELP (Resolved)

Happened to me today. Truck is a 2025 3 months old with 4500 miles, Pulled Into drop my daughter off at school. Put the truck in park turned the radio down to say goodbye and when I put it in drive and used my turn signal I got nothing! First thought was shouldn’t I hear the turn signal? Checked the radio and nothing. Turned the truck off and back on and still nothing. Walked in to get an apple fritter since I’ve heard that can help sometimes and started the truck up and sound is back. I’ll start keeping a log of issues to document for MX I guess.
Annoying and hopefully is just a software issue that can fix everyone’s problems.

OP your radio hasnt gone out again after amp swap? I've now had it go out 5 times since my swap same exact issues as before...was wondering if your problem ever came back?

Bought a new '25 AT4 1500 CarbonPro 3.0L in April - 5600 miles and this issue (no audio or turn signal sounds) crops up for me at least every couple of weeks. The truck is absolutely amazing in every other aspect besides that, but it sure is infuriating when it happens. The documented "fix" of shutting the truck off and coming back to it after ~10 minutes or restarting in safe mode and then starting the truck after ~2 minutes usually brings the audio back.

Been doing some digging and just wanted to post an update here: the previous PIT6101 service bulletin on this issue that was mentioned in post #8 in this thread has been superseded by PIT6406A, and now includes 2022-2025 Sierra 1500s (the previous bulletin only included 2023-2024 MYs). See here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11020688-0001.pdf

Curiously, replacement of the amplifier is still only a valid fix for the '23-'24 model years, and the '22 and '25 are not included in that. Overall, the whole thing smells like a software issue, full stop. I'd be curious to know if any of the previous posters (or the OP of this thread) have had their issue completely solved for extended time periods due to the amplifier swap.

(Oh, and this is my first post here - glad to be part of the community!)

Welcome.

I have a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation with the Bose audio and was experiencing what everyone else on here was experiencing with no audio at the turn on of the car. One thing about mine was the mute button reset, or booting into safe mode would not fix my issue. I noticed one time that the audio started to work and cut out within the first few seconds of starting the truck. So I read somewhere on these forums that this was an Apple Car Play / Android Auto issue. I removed my devices by resetting my infotainment. Now I listen to music through a USB stick or Sirius to test. I only have a week in but so far no audio issues and the radio comes on instantly when I start the truck, where as before there was a two or three second delay before audio would even play. Maybe this is just a software issue and will be resolved. I usually have issues within 10 days and I am getting close to that mark. Will report back once another week passes. All the GMC dealership would tell me is they are aware of the issue and please wait while they work on a solution. They would not even entertain an amp or head unit swap to test.

I guess I'll join the fray.....about every 20 startups, my radio won't play. It will either come back on after 10-15 minutes or if I stop, shut the truck off, open and close the door and then restart. I also get the Sirius XM issue where a channel quits playing, I change to another channel and then back and it works.

Now I'm getting the GPS map quitting. On a start, the map won't come up. When I push the map button, it will try and then go back to the last screen.

I'm sick of the glitches in this thing and waiting for them to decide what to do about the engine. If it burned up in a fire today, I wouldn't buy another, probably go back to a Raptor or a new Dodge 540 HP. .

I was less than 1000 miles in on mine and this started happening. And for GMC to say we know about it and working on a solution is frustrating as heck! I was researching motor and transmission before buying, never thought about researching audio issues before buying a truck. Would have thought that was a gimmie!

Any further update from anyone on this annoying issue? I have an hour drive to work, so you can imagine my frustration when this happens at the start of my morning drive

After 10 days my no apple car play idea blew up and I had no audio again. GMC said they will be replacing my head unit next for me, so I am not going to hold my breath, but praying that they at least try something versus saying they are working on a solution! I agree, super frustrating when you cannot use something as simple as the dang radio!

Sorry to hear that, Kevin. I'm in a 2025 AT4 with the Bose system as well, so I'll be very curious to hear if the head unit replacement makes a difference for you. Would you do us all a favor and report back here with results once that's replaced? Fingers crossed!

I was hoping to be able to come back to this thread and report that I had a working fix for this annoying issue... I found some Reddit posts that suggested turning off "Quick Startup" in the system options was a viable way to get rid of the no audio issue (albeit with a slower startup time when you turn on your truck). Alas, I tried this, and was good for about a week, and then it happened again. Super frustrating!

(Anecdote: my brother-in-law with a 2024 AT4 and Bose audio says he's NEVER had this issue - not even once. Wild how it affects certain trucks and not others, when it clearly appears to be software-related.)

So after 3 additional times in the last two weeks I took it in only to find out the following: There was no software update and then they hand me document id number 6978033 titled Complete Audio Loss Through A Drive Cycle or Short Cuts In Audio. I have attached the document pages. Basically it ends with Do Not Replace The Amplifier Or Radio and Engineering Is Aware Of The Issues And Investigating. The document was released on July 7th. Look at the one page and find your year model and part numbers because you may be one that requires a replacement of hardware, in my case based on part numbers, no hardware replacement was to be given.

If you know your part numbers, you may be eligible for replacement amp or head unit. in my case, based on part numbers, they are saying it is software and engineering is looking into a solution.

Thanks for the update - sorry there wasn't better news.

That document you showed is the PIT6406A service bulletin that I linked to previously in the thread - and yeah, it shows that only the 2023 and 2024 model years with those part numbers are the ones that will get swapped out... which seems super weird to me. What they have on their hands definitely feels like a software issue, so I don't know why they selectively want to swap out hardware on the 2023-2024 models. Must be trying to fix a different or slightly-related issue. Ironically, my brother-in-law's 2024 AT4 has done this audio thing to him ZERO times... go figure.
