Yes, on the welding questions. But I don't weld nor have a welder. The alternative is using mulptiple clamps and buying a ready made precut pipes.
To be honest that is a heck of a lot of work and hassle to save $97 bucks out the door, in my case this morning, that is exactly what I spent.

They cut out the old muffler and flapper valve, then installed the new muffler and then straightened out the droopy exhaust pipe on the driver side.
I was there a total of about an hour. As mentioned, I paid 97 bucks out the door for their work. I am sure shop rates vary but I am not fan of all the brackets and bolts and stuff that can eventually rattle, much rather have it all welded together.
When I get home later I will get a under the truck and take a few pics.

For now here is the sound clips, note I will add a new cold start clip soon as I get the opportunity.

Sounds plenty good to me. So if I read correctly you did not need any additional pipe added with this muffler to be straight welded on to stock pipes after cutting out oem muffler?

I think I'll order a muffler and just take it to an exhaust shop and say here it is make it work on this truck once the oem muffler is off and straighten the droopy drivers side tail pipe. I can do the droopy tail pipe myself if need be I have a nice commercial torch.

Sorta leaning towards a Borla ATAK crate muffler.

No, nothing other than the muffler itself since the muffler on it now is not one, that GM put on it.
GM Sells full aftermarket exhaust systems for these trucks.

Thanks for the clips! The Corsa sounds nice! Sounds mean but not obnoxious. Curious on hwy drone.

I do have a welder at my place, but no 220 hookup for it. Growing up on a farm, I used to weld some, but not a lot. It's been a long time since I have, honestly.

I agree on welding over a bunch of brackets. If I do the swap, I will have the local muffler shop weld it in instead of a bunch of brackets.

The new mufflers rather the Bora, Corsa, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc. etc. They will all be shorter than the OEM muffler coming off.
So there is some piping added to fill in that space the huge OEM muffler was taking up.

Funning thing to note about my experience at the muffler shop this morning.
There were 3 other customers in the waiting area, all 3 of us were there with new vehicles having muffler deletes or performance mufflers installed like mine.
One was a new RAM truck owner, the other was a new Dodge Challenger owner.
I am betting that my muffler shop has a huge pile of brand new oem mufflers piled up out back. LOL

As far as Corsa or Bora Atack, I played the sound clips back-to-back, with my video and the video that I had posted of the deleted vs Attack.
I know I shot my video at one angle which was a little different then his, I am pretty sure the results are splitting hairs. I order my Corsa from Summit and had seen that it would be to me in 2 days with my appointment being Friday and having had several good experiences with Corsa full systems in the past, I went Corsa, but had a the Corsa been backordered or any reason that would have triggered a delay, I would have had no problem going with the Attack Borla.

To me, with factory cats and resonators in place on both trucks in the clips mine and his, I think they sound pretty much the same only the angle of the videos altering the mic a bit being about the only differences. Both use drone canceling technology in their mufflers.

I am making a 2 hour each way road trip tomorrow, back to my hometown to get my windows tinted at the tint shop that I have been using now for 35 years, ever since I was 16 when window tinting was first becoming a thing. I should know for sure if there are any drone issues by the time, I make it back home tomorrow evening. I did take the expressway from the muffler shop to my office this morning and was running around 70-75 at times and there was not any drone that I could hear, or none that I noticed, granted that was only about 10–15-minute drive.

Definetly curious about the freeway part when the truck is in DFM as to how the sound is. I have an appointment to have my front to windows tinted to match rears they just have not called me yet. Can't get to dark here in MS or the police will pull you over constantly with heavy tinted windows.

Just talked with my selling dealer service manager who is a really nice guy and a truck guy. He said warranty not an issue on a muffler swap but warned me about the potential weird noises at freeway speed with the DFM. He has a 22 AT4 6.2 on the lot used with a full Borla GM exhaust on it he wants me to come drive and listen to. I asked him why was the GM branded Borla touring system so pricey at $2395 and he simply said they're marking it up. So I asked if I bought the same system through and aftermarket company for $1483 would he install it and he said yes for $155 but he could not stand behind anything to do with the system itself just the install. I said that would work. I may go that route just not sure yet. Still be close to $2 grand

I know the owner of the shop as he has other businesses in town, the owner is out of town this week, I only talked to one of his employee's who quoted me $300 for the magnaflow swap. The owner might give me a better deal since I know him. He will be back in town next week, I will talk to the owner directly and see what he says for price. Can't hurt at least.

I look forward to your interstate drone/no drone experience. I leave either the 17th or 18th for a 1000 mile trip out of state again to do another job. Don't want a droning muffler in my cab on a 1000 mile trip, lol. I probably don't have time to get a swap done next week anyway before I leave. Have a full slate of jobs to complete here yet next week, so will need the truck for work every day and little to no downtime to be at a muffler shop.

I think I might actually like that better than the Borla S-Type I got from the dealer for 1800. Oh well.

I paid $97 for labor and materials (Added pipe) etc. Including fixing the droopy pipe on the driver side.
Your $300 for everything seems about right, that magnaflow must have pretty good price point.
My Corsa muffler from summit was around $ 350.
So, all in I am setting at $450 in my muffler swap.

Yeah, it seems a little high to me, but not overly over priced.

I have been communicating with Summit Racing to determine the proper Magnaflow to choose for this 23 AT4X. They finally suggested part #12289 Magnaflow. It is a little higher than the other Magnaflows I was looking at - and those are the ones that came up when I put in my truck year, model and trim on their site. $163 for the Magnaflow they suggested. Total length with the inlet/outlets is 30", so would still need an extension 3" pipe welded on to make it work. I asked them if they had any discounts available... waiting to hear back on that.

I will figure out what the local muffler shop will charge to just install it if I buy the muffler myself.
