My order is in! HD AT4

CR and most other "independent" review and rating publications are a fantasy. They are bought and paid for. Also biased due to their sample pool, my entire family (20+ ppl), everyone but me, is or was in commercial construction. Job sites would have hundreds to thousands of workers on them, hundreds of jobs, over 40+ years, all driving their flavor of pickups. Guess how many of them were asked about their trucks by one of those publications. They go off a small sample pool of soccer moms and dad's who are subscribers and scale it up according to whatever algorithm they care to use today.

The rest of the information comes from dealership data which is also biased because service writers have to make money, and the only way to do that is to convince you to fix whatever they can keep a straight face and tell you is broken/worn or due to be replaced.

What I'm trying to say is do what makes YOU happy. I've had trucks everyone said were fantastic and hated em, I've had trucks everyone hated and loved em. I've learned.

Have ya'll gotten any updates. Just trying to compare time frames. My order was accepted to production on Feb 28th. It was at code 3000 then. I hate buggin my salesman about it and GMC chat no longer offers me codes.

When did you place your order? I just placed my order last Saturday, March 2nd.
Sales manager basically told me it might take 1 month for my order to get accepted

Placed my order on the 13th of Feb. Was at status code 2000 on the 25th then 3000 on the 27th. I haven't talked to my dealer since. I'm trying not seem too desperate I guess. I'm hoping soon I'll get a TPW and hopefully mid to late April I'll be driving it myself. The chat bot will say the same thing until the vehicle is produced so unless I ask my dealer I won't know any updates unless he reaches out first.

I was looking for this info for a while. I found it a few weeks ago then lost it. This may help everyone else. These are the chat bot replies that correspond to the status codes.

This was new info to me, so I thought I would share!!

So I figure GMC instituted a policy to stop offering code updates. Just look at the ambiguous code descriptors from 3800 - 5000.

Ya the chart I have is really only helpful for the "milestone" changes. However since everyone can google the order code numbers and the dealers give the codes freely it makes no sense that GMC themselves try to hide it. It just seems like they want to be inconvenient because there is no logical reason they won't supply the code.

My wife ordered her Mini Cooper John Cooper Works Clubman and she was able to follow it through production to even as it sailed across the Atlantic.

I talked to my dealer a week and a half ago and they said it’ll be delivered by end of April. But I haven’t gotten anything about a TPW so I’m skeptical.

I asked dealer last week and he said they did not have a VIN yet. I found that strange because he also said production was scheduled for this week. So many parts have the VIN on I would think they cant start anything until a number has been established.
