My order is in! HD AT4

How do you get codes like that? All I know is GMC has accepted my order and this week the dealer told me targeted production week of 3/18. I'm starting to really worry that I will end up with the last 2024 model.

You can do that or call your dealer. I have my salesmans cell and he texts me a pic when it updates.

You can also sort of infer the codes from the chat bot for gmc. There was a forum somewhere that had the corresponding codes for what the chat bot gives back but it’s a bit ambiguous.

Thanks, I have been doing the GMC chat thing as described in this thread but no "codes" had been given.

You have to get an actual person in the chat and ask them for the code. Sometimes they give it easily, other times they’re more reluctant for whatever reason.

I am 0-4 asking for code updates. The advisors simply refuse to provide them. I'm probably two weeks out for delivery.

2024 Production began in Jan or Feb last year.
If you're at status code 3000 you will for certain get a 2024. That means all your parts have been acquired and they are trying to pick a time for it to go into the production lineup. I haven't seen any official 2025 info for the 2500 yet. I would expect we would see that before any customer orders are accepted for the new year model. It appears there will be some changes for 2025, but that info may not be correct.

I'm tired of waiting but I dont want the last of the 24's if the 25's have updates. I have read that changes are expected but I dont completely believe them. 24 was an update, would they do another for 25?

If they added a pano roof and center shifter I’ll feel like a fool for getting a 24 lol.

Mentioning the center shifter will get some people arguing that a truck "should" have a column shifter. I dont care as much as they both have advantages but I cant believe they designed these when the shifter blocks part of the screen.

One of the many reasons I wanted to order a truck is because every one on every lot has a sunroof. Dont want one.

I also have a 24 Volcanic Red gasser on order, but AT4X, which includes the roof. I wish AT4X let me drop things like that.

Really having second thoughts TBH. My 2020 Sierra has been OK, but I have several good friends with 23s and 24s, 1500 and 2500, and they are all having nightmare problems. My order is accepted by GM but not yet scheduled. I doubt anything will improve on the 25s, but if it appears anything does, I am absolutely cancelling my 24 and waiting. I don't really care about magazine ratings, but what a great showing by GMC on the new CR report - almost dead last out of 34 ranked brands.

If you look at the actual report they only tested 3 models from GMC and the HD trucks were not of them. It was the Yukon/Yukon XL and the 1500

I did not see the models they tested. But I don't take any comfort in knowing the 1500 and Yukons scored so horribly low.
