Rental car front desk mentioned 10 people have come in due to their Sierra 1500s being stolen… I have $4k in aftermarket parts, plus all the packages, I doubt they’ll factor that in… I’m f#@%ed I guess

This is my biggest fear. I have $10k not to mention all the hours, in upgrades. I think I will talk to my insurance company about extra coverage, if that’s even a thing

Yall are not gonna like the answer, but I’m done with GM, I put a deposit down on a Ford Ranger Raptor. It won’t be at the lot for a few more weeks so I got time to get all the stuff figured out. I have read a lot of reviews and for the price, it’s a lot of truck..

GAP insurance is for the difference between what you owe and what it's worth.

Now if the dealer installed the upgrades before purchase and the price is baked into the loan, then GAP would be the answer.

GAP would be worth it, if a person put very little down or all of the bullshit we went through a couple of years ago with dealer add-ons and market adjustments.

The club doesn't work either. I had one on my 2017 Silverado and they stole it in April. The only thing they were kind enough to leave me was the lock out of it on the ground though.

Damn! I guess it’s a tiny visual deterrent, was looking at ravelco but I think it’s like $800 for installation… they’d still break the glass or tear things up though…

I chose GAP insurance paid up front at purchase time, then have New Car Replacement insurance with my vehicle insurance plus an additional $10,000 insurance for accessories. Hopefully enough insurance. Having said that I'm still working on a hidden tracker solution other than standard, GPS locators etc.

I hate hearing about this stuff! Thieves are the worst...they need their hands cut off just below the chin!!!!!
All we can do insure our stuff take every precaution, but in the end if they want it, they'll figure out a way!
What sucks is how violated you feel. I had a stereo stolen out of my car and that feeling of "Someone else was in my car and they think they can just have my stuff...I work hard for and pay for?????" EFF THEM!!!

Oh I'd be furious, and would also feel that violation. When we were building our house we were robbed of a brand new Quad that we hadn't even made a payment on yet and a dirt bike. The Quad wasn't parked at the location where we had insurance so we couldn't do anything other than continue paying for it. We were only clearing the land so we hadn't insured anything yet.

Now if you have the MyGMC app on your phone can you find it using the map? I do that weird thing and track my Terrain AT4 when it's at the dealership - like they're going anywhere with it. Never know, though. We're here in Metro Detroit where cars and trucks are stolen right from the dealerships and the auto plants themselves.

Hopefully its recovered, but in my experience, the insurance will payout once its recovered and it will end up a total loss and be sold at auction as a theft vehicle. You can possibly buy it back from the insurance company.

I know its been a while now but is there an update to this? Did you take the insurance claim, purchased another truck etc. ?
