My audio build...

Small update. I discovered that the subwoofers in the truck are actually hitting the floor of the truck when playing at full volume. This is a LARGE problem for SQL...and me. So I'm swapping the subs from the Corvette into my truck, and taking the Daytons and installing them into the ZO6. This is going to be a large change.

Do you think your brother would sell the speaker adapters for the front doors? I may be interested in upgrading to the dayton speakers. That’s probably all I would do. Were the doors hard to dissasemble?

Look no further...https://soundsgoodstereo.com/collections/2019-2023-gmc-sierra-chevrolet-silverado-crew-cab-with-bose-1/products/custom-speaker-adapters-compatible-with-2014-2021-gmc-chevrolet-vehicles?variant=40552170520734

And no, the doors are no difficult than any modern door card. Once you get it the first time, it's an unlocked skill. LOL!

Sorry for the crappy pic, but you get the idea. Removed the 10's, cut a larger hole and added 13TW5's. So far they sound decent. Need tuning obviously. We went from 360W RMS @ 2 ohms on 10's, to 360W RMS @ 4 ohms on 13.5's. Need to adjust gains and such. Rest assured, new charts from tuning are coming.

Put in some work on the rear driver door today. Man do I want to do the passenger side too, but it gets so much harder as I get older to put in this level of work. Just this door took me about 4.5 hours. So worth it in the long run as you CAN hear a huge difference before versus after. The 10's were also swapped out for 13TW5s. She absolutely gets down man.

Now, if I could only figure out how to bypass that stupid variable output charging BS...I could really enjoy this thing.

Well, if I wasn't full retard before...I am now. I bought new gear and I'm making a change. The new system configuration is as follows:
1) Helix DSP Pro MK2 with "Director"
2) Audiofrog GB25s in OEM dash location
3) Audiofrog GB10s (tweeters) in aluminum tweeter pods
4) Dayton RS225-4 8" woofers (front doors)
5) Focal KX2 6.5" woofers (rear doors)
6) JL XD 800/8 (amplifier)
7) Kicker CXA1200.1 (for the subs)
8) JL Audio 13TW5 shallow 13.5" subwoofers (x2 in a SubThump box under the rear seat)
9) Cascade audio VB2 (doors, headliner, and rear wall) and VB3 on the floor. Also using KnuKoncepts Kollossus and SDS CLD tiles and pieces where needed.

Why am I switching? I'm going from an active 2 way, to an active 3 way. Switching to a 1200W RMS mono amp for the subs. They need more powa! That's a lot of work just doing amp swapping...but really excited for the GB25s. Those little fuggers are AMAZING just on their own. The GB10s will be on axis high in the A-pillars. And those TW5s...man what can I say about those things? They will surprise you how well they perform. They rival competition subs with output in a small and compact package. It is EASILY my favorite subwoofer...even over my 10W7. There's nothing a pair of TW5s can't do exceptionally well. For anyone considering subs, look no further.

Total invested into system to date? Well, some of this gear was bought used, made with our own equipment (3D printer), or 2nd hand discounted but still new, or just new, and the list above comes in at $6301 (including, amp rack, wiring, adapters, incidentals, etc.). Mind you I did the entire install and tuning, so no money was spent there. I didn't include the money spent on the first round of parts. Once I sell some of the extra stuff I got laying around the expense begins to drop. When I saw that number, I was a bit surprised...I thought it would be much higher. If I would've had to pay full retail, it probably would be closer to $8-$8500.

did you install a AMP remote wire? I am adding an amp and sub in my 2022 AT4 (really the same equipment from my sold truck). In my 2022 right side fuse box there are zero extra points to install a remote. Maybe a 10 amp fuse tap wire with a in line fuse?

No. I run the remote signal to my amps from my DSP. The DSP uses the OEM remote turn on wire from the Bose amp harness.

Thanks for the info! I was looking at that just for subs. Maybe I’ll be able to stop there ….

If I end up down the door speaker replace road I’ll likely have to get a pro to deal with the dsp to unass the Bose.

Is there any easy (meaning no cutting and not having to disassemble half the truck) way to disable the "richbass woofer" factory sub thing when installing real subs?

Yes. You can just cut the output wire to that driver from the Bose amp. In post #31 on this thread, you can see the wires for it. They're the Blue and Blue/Black wires coming out of the bose amp. I used those as the "sub input" to my DSP. My factory "subwoofer" in the center console is not operational anymore. Can't tell at all. LOL. Also, sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been on here in a while.

May as well update. The last combo I listed has been absolutely amazing. We haven't had to touch the tune in months now. It still sounds absolutely breath taking and I enjoy the system every single time I drive it. It's my daily, so I enjoy it a lot. I made the right decision here. Hell, my wife and I will find a song we like, download it, and say how good it must sound in the truck...and then go have a date night just jamming out sitting in the driveway. Dare I say, it absolutely beats my ZO6 in SQL. I guess that means it's time to get busy on the Z again. (Why I haven't been here recently.)

Love seeing audio builds. Will be dropping in a Sundown setup in the Yukon AT4 in the next few projects. Thinking dual x12's D2 and SCV-3000 w/LCi. Not sure yet on satellites; last setup was with Focal and was somewhat impressed.

Edit: even though I have the Yukon XL...I need to have a "quick disconnect" type (sub box) setup vs hard mounted. We take too many trips to GA and wife does too much repurposing of furniture to have my auido setup be an issue.
