Duramax LZO how does everyone like this engine?

Well after two weeks of playing tag with the dealer and GM with the CEL cycling on and off… they finally ended up replacing the sensor. A day after getting the truck back I got another CEL with the same P22FE code. Pretty annoying since I just went through a lot of issues with the new tundra which is why I picked this up. Guess it’s back to the dealer, definitely annoying because I do like the truck overall

That sucks. Continual "sensor" issues causing error codes and limp mode is why I traded off my 2020 AT4 baby diesel. Loved the engine, but it stranded me for a month with the sensor issues (I believe they had replaced 5 different sensors over a 4 week time frame) and the dealer STILL never fixed or found the issue/culprit(s).

I hope they get yours figured out!

My 2023 GMC Sierra At4 3.0 idles at 1,900 rpm sometimes and 1,500 sometimes? Any ideas or suggestion?
My truck idles at around 500 and when cold ( have the switch turned on for cold idle to heat it up) will idle around 900 during that time. Heck at 1600 rpms I'm sitting on 75 mph.. That doesn't sound right, but mine is a 2021 model,

Most dealers will fill a vehicle up with fuel at purchase but few will top off the DEF tank. Most only add a 2.5 gallon jug and send the truck out.
It’s pretty dumb when you bought a $80k+ truck and they cheap out on $9 of def.
Shoutout to Tustin Buick GMC for NOT filling my gas tank.

I am contemplating giving up on my AT4X order after 12 months of waiting for it to arrive. I am now considering an AT4 Diesel. I know about it’s fuel economy but how is the power, towing and reliability?
Just got it. Almost 500 miles now. It's great. Loving the MPG!

I love my 2022 3500 it’s been a great truck towing is not an issue and man the truck wants to go! We purchased it in May without all the chips and I was willing to accept that the chip shortage will be solved eventually. I did get some chips in December for heated seats, but still others missing. Aside from that inconvenience it’s been a great truck.

TLDR Version:
Truck just died was‘t sure what to do so I towed it to a dealer. Dealer service dept is backed up takes 5 days to find out fuel pump is dead. 7-10 days to get the part. Truck has been at the dealer for 15 days. Followed back up today and was told part isn’t available and they will either need to manufacture a new fuel pump for me or pull one from something on the assembly line. No ETA on possible replacements.

Detailed Version:
About three weeks ago so around Jan 31 I was driving my daughter to school and the truck just died. Sitting at a light engine just stops. Lights flashing like a Christmas tree and I’ll just say I was in shock. Nothing I did was helping. The lights were still on and after letting it sit for 30-45 seconds it started back up and I was like … Glitch! Truck dies again about 20 seconds later and I see the engine light is on and a message stating engine reduced power. I’m like what the hell. I’m stuck in the middle of the intersection and not a lot of options. Cars driving around me … nothing. I wait another minute or two and try to start and it starts … so I do what I can to coast through the intersection and park on the side of the street best I can as the street is pretty narrow. Engine dies shortly after getting through the intersection. I look in the manual and am not finding much and so I hit the web and all I can find is that reduced power has got as many possibilities as engine light. So I have AAA tow it to the nearest GMC dealer. I call the dealer can’t get through. We call the sales department after a full day of waiting to at least hear if they have my truck. Finally I get a text from the dealer. ‘Hey we’re backed up at least a week and can’t get to your car for about 7 days”. This is Monday. So I look around and every dealer is having a similar issue With their service department. Anyway I manage to find another dealer with an open appointment on Saturday so I grab that appointment and decide I might as well leave it at the first place because if it’s gonna be 6 days either way can’t hurt to try and get work where I can. Anyway first dealer calls my Friday and tells me HD Fuel pump died and I need a replacement. It’s all under warranty so I’m not too worried until the guy says it will be 7 - 10 days to get the part. Well that sucks but hey I really like the truck and we just wait. Today is day 12. I call the dealer for the first time in 12 days and ask for status. Service guy says The fuel pump has not come in. I’m like is there any ETA on when it might arrive? I’m thinking maybe a few more days … he responds with this message:

“My parts team said they checked on this this morning with Gm stating no available ETA at this time. Usually when I see this, they have to build a part or try to pull something from the assembly line”!!!!

I have heard from friends GMC, Ford, Chevy it’s hard now to get your truck worked on. The service departments are understaffed and parts are taking forever to find etc.

So now I’m rethinking my situation. I didn’t buy a nice truck to have it sit in the shop for weeks on end. I’m not sure if anyone has played this game, but woof this is a bit of a sucker punch. I haven’t given up all hope yet, but if we don’t get the part soon and it continues to sit and we don’t get a call from someone at GMC we may need to move on.

I have to admit I was surprised to hear the fuel pump died. Anyone know of anyone else that has reported this issue? Something to note the truck has about 15K miles on it so not sure if that has something to do with it.

This is a LZ0 thread - not sure what part you are missing specifically.

love our 2022 AT4 power is all we want have only pulled a flat trailer so far. Best driving truck I have ever had I have had several

22’ Refresh with LM2 10K miles. Was concerned with stated 23 vs 26 MPG for the AT4 trim. Winter time in the North East and the last 2500 mile reports 29MPG with mixed driving. Tows my trailer better than my 5.3L with 50% better mileage. Zero issues so far. Have 90K more miles of warranty to decide if it is a keeper. So far, cheaper to run than my 5.3L given the fuel price difference. BTW, my old 5.3L had more problems than I would have expected.

Considering trading my 21 TrailBoss with the 6.2 for a 23 AT4 with the LZ0. Love the Boss but really want the new interior and the mileage. Worried about potential problems but I did have a valve spring break in the TB with 300 miles on it. Been fine ever since but still. Just can’t decide what to do…

I tow sxs and bass boat, as well as a mower. The mower being the most frequent. At 16k on the TB I’m averaging 14.2 mpg which sorta sucks. Diesel vs Premium…I think the mileage of the LZ0 would work out better price wise for me with the increased cost of diesel.
