I would like to re emphasize I replaced all (except console speaker) my stock Bose speakers with higher end KS speakers. I believe this also makes a difference. Im not a big BOSE fan in these trucks.

I read through it. Basically confirmed what I was saying. Some think it adds nothing. But it seems with the knob installed there is a consensus it makes a difference. Also people agree change out BOSE speakers seem to help too. I think it is a good add on and has plenty of bass. I think if you want bass to move your truck and those around you this is not for you. My wife says it’s plenty loud and is happy. Its a hearing taste like exhaust in these trucks we all have a preference. I like GM Borla touring NOT ATAK.Found this on the interwebz. We are similar in taste. My problem is very dependent on the music. There's good response to some music and next to none on others.

I listen to 80s mostly, 70s and some 90s. Very little new stuff maybe 10 songs. Not much RAP unless it’s on XM and from the 80s. If that helps in music choice. so far my wife and I are happy with the sound.

I have the one without dip switches or a jack port. Atlanta Rhythm Section, Spooky (song), on XM turned up 3/4 volume rolling down the highway sounded soooo good, lol.
The major issue with my music is the truck noise, very loud in the cab with these Duratracs and there doesn't seem to be much sound deadening, makes the sub necessary.

nope, thats what I have. Its a running supply chain thing where Stillwater Designs, aka Kicker, sourced different 200w amps than the ones with dip switches and a headphone jack for the bass knob.
Kobra obviously received a unit from a stock source that had the original version. If those are sold out when someone orders, you'll receive the newer version that only has the green power LED on the amp. When I talked to a tech support guy at Kicker, he said unless they source different again, all units will no longer have the adjustments on the amp.

Wondering how you're getting a better response out of yours? Trust me, I'm not looking for attention, just some deep bass when called for.

I get it, wish I could help. As I said earlier, initially I was right where you are, wanting it out of there and my money back..just heard some muddy thump sounds. Figured they either installed it wrong or it was defective. make sure your fade adjustment is dead center, I know a lot of folks like fading to the back thinking those rear door speakers will come alive,,,they don't.
