Decided on the GM Kicker sub

A call to Kicker will verify there's no adjustment you can make as is, except through the radio equalizer adjustment.
The first days of messing with mine, I was close to returning to the dealer and have them remove it for refund. I can't explain cause I have no idea if there's a "break in" for these things but the bass is much better now than when first installed.
My bass is at 3/4 and treble lines up there also. Mid is a little over the half mark.
I also don't know if the music source has any effect. I only listen to SiriusXM channels in the truck.
Good to know.

Had mine installed at my dealer awhile back also. I can confidently tell you not to worry about the external bass adjustment knob...it doesn't come with one and there's no jack to plug one in. Unless you find a used one somewhere, those models are no longer made.
All adjustments will come from the simple equalizer in your audio menu. It improved my system 100%
Not sure what changed but the bass response is getting better.

Form what I’ve heard it should be a decent upgrade for abit more bass and loudness. Not earth shattering but just enough to make the music pound a little.

I'm thinking it's more of an issue with not having a bass control knob. Supposedly there isn't a jack on the new units. I'm going to look into it and install the control knob if I can. Very music specific so it leads me to believe its the head unit.

With the sub you don’t find any real difference with our without it installed?

This may be a silly question, but for those of you that installed the Kicker sub, does your Bose system have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) running? I was told ANC will kill the potential of any sub in these vehicles.

I just picked my truck up on Sat and was immediately left wanting more from the audio system. It's honestly pretty shocking how poor the performance is from this system. I went straight to a car audio store after leaving the dealer and they walked me thru a huge pitch to replace everything short of the receiver. I'm not planning to make a massive change like that right now. But they did say the Bose systems don't pass much power to the rear door speakers. I'd need a new Amp and processor to ensure more power runs to all speakers.

I'm a newbie with this truck though. So not sure how much of that was a sales pitch and how much was true.

Definitely a difference but not consistent. I've noticed if listening at lower volumes, the bass is modest at best. When you turn up the volume the bass is much more acceptable, hearing be damned.

That would make sense. Not sure if that's something that can be adjusted.

With stock bose system depending on music genre I have to turn up the volume to 3/4 to full to hear any type of thump! Hoping with the kicker I won’t have to go that high on the volume scale lol

I honestly think it's either my truck set up or its a configuration issue.

You just have the stock bose system and kicker sub upgrade nothing else?

I have a 24’ AT4 HD with stock bose not sure if it’s different from your 1500…..
