Still no letter for mine. 2023 AT4X purchased Jan 23, 2023 with an engine build date of Dec 20, 2022.
Got the same yesterday. It's just a waiting game now lol.Today, I got my letter (dated May 2025). It was just notifying me that my vehicle is involved in the recall. The letter stated that parts to repair my vehicle are not available and that I will receive another letter that will instruct me to have my vehicle serviced.
Yeah, mine said basically the same thing. Have you decided to run thicker weight oil yet? I'm thinking of going back to 10w-40 Mobil one. Years ago, before all the MPG hype, I used to run heavier oils in all my vehicles. Never had a problem. Never really worried about MPG either. Teh way I look at it, I'd rather have longevity over fuel economy, especially if we're only talking about 1-2mpg difference.I got a letter informing me I was in the recall and parts are not yet available. Oh well I’ll continue to use it until she blows! Nothing on taking it in was in the letter.
So they're sending out different letters. My letter stated that since I already had an engine replacement, my new engine was no longer effected by the recall. However, the letter stated that they would give me a 10 year 150k mile engine warranty. The way I'm reading the letter is that the extended engine warranty specifically only covers issues with the connecting rod and crankshaft. The letter says if this specific condition occurs within the engine within 10 years from the date your vehicle was originally placed in service, it'll be covered.Gents,
I got my recall letter today. It says that my engine 6.2L, (2023 AT4), is part of the N252494000 recall notice. I'm a little late to the party but have been reading to catch up. What I don't understand is the difference in updates (i.e. versions -001, -002, -003) and how or if it pertains to me. I haven't had it inspected yet but, from what I can tell is if it passes then its a simple oil change, oil cap, and parper inserts. NO WHERE have I been able to find, with any certainty, that I will get the additional 10 yr - 150,000 mile warranty. Where can I get confirmation of this warranty? I have called GMC but as you can imagine, they put you on hold forever and/or you simply don't get through. My dealer hasn't called me back either.
I needed an oil change a few months ago, and decided to change to the 0-40 Mobil 1 Supercar Oil. This was before the recall was officially announced, but the recommendation on the oil change was public. Not knowing how it would be before I could make an appointment, I made the decision to do it. 2021 AT4 with 21000 miles. I received the first letter telling me to wait for the second one. We'll see how it turns out, but I figured the sooner I get the new oil in, the better my chances are for longevity, providing I don't need a new motor. I'll ask for reimbursement and see what they say. NAPA did the oil change, filter, and oil cap. As for gas mileage, I returned a few days ago from a trip I've made a dozen times over the last 3 years. Previous to this trip, MPGs varied from 21.5 to 24.8. This trip I got 25.3 with the new oil. 90 degree day with light winds. Load out has always been 2 adults with an additional 250 lbs. of gear. Surprised me, but then again, it was one trip.Yeah, mine said basically the same thing. Have you decided to run thicker weight oil yet? I'm thinking of going back to 10w-40 Mobil one. Years ago, before all the MPG hype, I used to run heavier oils in all my vehicles. Never had a problem. Never really worried about MPG either. Whats yall's take on this?
Yes, there is a specific date range between 2021-2024. Glad yours isn't effected. With the date on my 6.2 (N1202691), I figured I was included in the recall. Since I never received a letter I reached out to a buddy that owns a small Chevy dealership. He ran my VIN and my truck is NOT included in the recall. Maybe GM has whittled it down to a specific lot or date range.
