Dealer Update on 6.2L recall service

I was waiting out my oil change but as another poster above, I am at 12%. My dealership doesn't have any idea when they will be ready for the recall, so oil is getting changed today. Mine is a '22 with 15K on it and less than 3k on this oil change. But it's a pass/fail situation, I'm just cheap and hate to spend the money on an oil change and get my recall notice next week to change it again. Also was needed since I found out I have to drag a trailer 7 hours on friday to load up my daughters possessions and 7 hours back on Sunday. Which brings up a question, would you pull a small enclosed trailer empty on the highway in trailer mode or not?

Yes.

The 10 year and 150K sounds great, ONLY if it's transferable. If not, you'll take a hit on trying to sell the truck. I wouldn't buy one that wasn't transferable. No one has said if it's transferable yet.

I’m sure it will be. Gm wants to mitigate as much negative perception as possible.

I got the text from my dealer the other day. I’m on vacation in Europe with my family so will be next week before I take my truck in for testing. I leave the next day to tow a trailer 400 miles to help my daughter move. Full going up, empty going back. Dealer confirmed they’d have a loaner for me if my truck fails

I did the same trip for the same purpose a couple weeks ago. 5x8 enclosed trailer and the truck definitely did better in tow/haul mode even though the trailer wasnt that heavy.

For me I found about 72mph to be the sweet spot. 75 and the truck wanted to hunt gears. Any slower and traffic was blowing past me. 10-11mpg either way…

Shortmag - looks like we're living the same life :) Picking up the 5x8 at lunch today, I'll be empty down and full back. Extra fuel will be about as much as the trailer rental. Tow mode it is.

I got my oil changed on Tuesday, and I got a bit of conflicting information. When I asked about the recall for my truck when I scheduled my appointment, they initially said that they don't have any information currently. But when I picked up my truck and talked to the service guy in person, I assumed that they haven't received the testing equipment yet, he told me that they have it and have tested some trucks already and all passed. He said they would contact me to test my truck. Good luck all!

10 years or 150k miles from date of original inservice….. I thought timeframe was going to start from the time of the inspection.

And the extended warranty only specifically covers issues from the connecting rod and crankshaft.

So did mine. Mine said since I already had the engine replaced, they weren't going to do anything else but they are including the 10 year 150k mile warranty for the engine.

Did you look at the date on you replacement engine? That's what they were supposed to do.
