What did you do to your AT4 today?

Not the best pictures I know, the garage lights were throwing some glare, but I started my detailing with a few free hours I had. Got the bed, bumper, back glass, wheels / tires, and tonneau done, and a start on the driver's rear door. Also touched up my flaking steps with some bed liner. If I ever get the bright idea to buy another black truck, I hope one of you is there to kick me in the groin.

Owned one black vehicle in my entire life, and lived close to the pineapple fields on Oahu and 50 yards from the ocean. Woke up to either salt water stains or red dirt depending on the wind. After that I never owned another black vehicle.

Part of the grille install went well, part of it did not. Black bezels when on the fog lights okay after carefully uncoupling everything, but the grille came out of the box broken. Back to Amazon she goes. Other than that, looked like really good quality for 200 bucks. I’m gonna give them another chance before I go elsewhere. Ordered a replacement, should be here Monday.

Bummer, sorry for the headache, but good luck on the next round!

Damn that red dirt was always a bitch to get off! Glad I never owed a white vehicle while I was stationed there!

Test fit some Method 705 Bead Grip Wheels in 17x8.5 with 0mm Offset and 285/70R17 I had leftover from my Tacoma, they clear the brakes perfectly so these are getting installed once the Black lug nuts arrive.

The replacement grille for the broken one from amazon is in. All in all, not bad. Fit and finish is good, and the paint match is spot on. I have to get the rubber weatherstrip and all the little plastic clips out of the old one to put in the new where the hood meets. And I'm waiting on some replacement body clips from amazon for the ones I broke during removal. I searched the GM website for what I needed, then crossed those numbers to amazon. I'm not paying 7 or 8 dollars a piece from GM when I can get 20 for the same price. Even though they'll probably just sit in the cabinet and collect dust.

That's why they make cabinets...to store stuffs, that collects dust! 😁

Since I don't drive it sometimes for longer periods of time, I added a battery tender plug. Still need to wire it in, but it's mounted anyway. Little nerve racking cutting a hole in the new grille, but it seemed like the best location. I considered putting it by the block heater, but flat mounting space was nonexistent, and it would have resulted in a longer wire run. I think it turned out well, blends in with all the black, and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb too bad.

Looks good.

Wished you would've asked about ideas. Could have save time. You can back feed the battery maintainer thru the 7way, if'n that would be feasible for your situation and @pinebaron has come up with an alternative solution as he couldn't get to his rear bumper.

Doesn't matter now, and you did a good clean job and not a hack job or a cord hanging out somewhere! 👍
