Reverse Lights

I went a slightly different route. I ordered Rigid Ignite lights with a diffused pattern. Flush mounted them to the steps and wired them into the bed cargo lights.

Good news:
- They are insanely bright

Bad news:
- They turn on any time the cargo lights are on (i.e. unlocking, remote start)
- Cannot manually control in drive

Any problems with the rear cross traffic sensors when mounting the lights there?

I did 6.5” flood lights below the bumper. They are flood pattern with the “side shooter” lense meaning they light up to the sides as well so greater than 180 degree spread. I put taillight tint over the clear lenses just for looks, did not change the light. I have these wired to both my cab mounted switch panel so I can turn them on at any time, and also tapped them in so they come on when in reverse. Used a 2 in 1 out diode so no back feed through the 2 separate inputs. Can switch them on when setting up camp which is handy.

I got a LED Tailgate Light Bar that I will be putting in, but I am not sure how well it will work as the gap between the bottom of the tailgate and the top of the bumper is kinda small. It has turn, brake and reverse: 60" Light Bar. It has a 4pin flat on it and I will be looking under there to see about splicing it in, I found an adapter that goes between the harness and the plug on the bumper, but I am not sure about that, but it is only about $35usd.

Do you have a link to the diodes? That may come in handy with a couple of things I am thinking of.

I have dealer installed Putco tailgate lights; I guess they need to be installed just right. Dealer got it right on their second attempt.

Changed out my reverse lights recently for a slimmer model. Been doing the rough country lights all around and very happy with them. Have the 30” dual in the front, swivel pods on the bed rails, and now these 10” slim line black under the rear bumper. Will be installing 2 sets of the 2” flush mounts in each of the foot step cut outs next for side lighting. Very happy with light output, look, quality and price. About $90 for the 10” slim line pair. Black body and black lense made them match well. All lights are wired to my switch panel and these reverse also come on in reverse

The new 10" LED's you put in look way better. Nice and clean. Looks good!

Thanks, l like the black lenses and they are only 1” tall so don’t hang down far. I cut and modified the mounting brackets that came with them to keep them flush with the bumper. Great light output.

Have the 6inch ones mounted on my DiamondBack cover. They are good lights.

Those do look great there. Are they flood?
I am going to do the 2” flush mount inside the bed side steps next for side illumination similar to what you have done. They come in spot or flood and I am going with flood. That will complete 360 coverage for me. For the price point these are very affordable and throw a good amount of light.
