Factory Power Running Board lighting.

Does anyone know who makes these power folding steps? I thought they were AMP research. I just called them looking for the seal or gasket for the LED light strip, and they're 100% positive they do not make any steps used as OEM from the factory. ???
not sure if they outsource the power folding mirrors from a different company like AMP. Maybe they are actual OEM product from GMC who knows. Would honestly be nice to know since my wife’s Yukon drives side power step the black paint or powder coat is starting to rub off and it shows bear metal.

So after 3 months. The driver repair by dealer worked. They didn't replace entire step. Never got a full answer of what was done.

Don’t have an issue on my power running boards but my wife’s running board on her 21’ Yukon the paint or powder coat is coming off. Talked to GM Canada and talked to a rep they said they never heard of that before. Ultimately it’s up to the dealership to determine if its warranty approved or not. The passenger side running board is perfect with no issues!

This is unrelated but this thread is the only one I can find that has people who might know the answer to my question:
I want to manually turn on/off the LED lights under the factory powered running boards.
As you all were exploring the issues above, did anyone ever figure out which wire I should tap into to add a switch to turn the running board LEDs on/off manually?

Mine is a 2024 2500 HD AT4X

Buy a set of rock lights, they are fairly inexpensive, and connect them to a switch. Thats what i would do. Tracking down the factory wiring is a big pain.

I guarantee if you start splicing into the stock harness you will throw check engine codes…everything is computer controlled and monitored nowadays.

Welp just noticed with my 24’ Sierra 2500 at4 my passenger side step led lights don’t turn on. Will have to go to the dealership and get them to fix this issue!
