Banks iDash

It would be a nice feature especially since we can't use the fullscreen but I'm not certain how it would be worth it for BANKs to jump through all the Apple hoops each and every time Apple updates or they want to make a simple little change to their system. Believe me apples a pain in the butt with that whole approval process. The only good thing about it is they are far less hack Abel than android.

Just ordered mine for my AT4x, how was the install? Also will the factory cover go back on after drilling the hole for cable to go through if you remove the gauge?
Install is a piece of cake, very easy, 1.5 of 10. Yes the cover can be put back on (assuming you don't use a huge hole saw for the cable pass thru. Just make it big enough to pass the end of the cable thru.

OBD2 broadcast dongles/apps been written/available for a few other brands of vehicles.
Do you have an example of such an app? CarPlay isn't vehicle/manufacturer specific, it is 100% controlled by Apple. Would absolutely LOVE to see one that's Apple certified!

Someone on here got one to work with Car Play. @gemarsh , was that you?
Yeah, I use the OBDlink MX+ dongle in the obd2 ports. The MX+ bluetooths to a android box that connects to carplay allowing the infotainment screen to become android based. Allowing any playstore app to run full-screen.

I don't use the OBDlink app, cause at the time you couldn't make your own pids. But I have seen that has been corrected.

I use torque pro...

Did the stock color of the pod not match well with the interior of you AT4x?
No. My AT4X interior was more like a very dark gray than the black of the Banks pod.

Putting the Banks pod in the hole looked okay, as there are other black bits in the truck but, to my eye anyway, the pod looks better when it matches the rest of the A-pillar.

In the pictures the small piece next to the pod is the OEM trim piece I used to color match. I blended the two paint colors in successive coats to get it close, then I’d hold the pod and the trim piece at different angles to the sun until I felt like it was good enough.

I ended up buying this pod off etsy for 50% off the pricing of the banks one. Was great quality.
Install takes maybe 20min.
Remove 2 bolts under pillar handle covers.
Drill hole in corner of cover, I used a 3/8" drill bit.
Remove side panel on dash.
Run cable up from OBD port.
Reinstall A pillar cover
Mount pod, install bolt, insert gauge.

Quick and easy.

I did make a install video Ill be publishing here shortly.

Thanks for posting this link - mine just came in and got it installed. Looks so much better now
