Auxiliary lighting switches

No fuse in that slot.
Would be worth checking to see if it is still live. I would suspect it is. A lot of the wiring is used across multiple makes models. I tapped in to the BCM circuit that is for illuminated door sills in the Cadillacs to add my footwell lighting. Wiring and function is there just no fuse or anything landed to it. If it is, most fuse taps have a double fuse set up so if you only install the 1 fuse that goes out your wire tap the other side is still open so would act just like it is now with no fuse.

If you find it dead you can also try F16 in the driver side fuse panel. That is the factory amp. When you open a door this kicks on then has a delay time out. Is live in ACC and when truck is on. If you observe your door chimes and audio system that is the power signal you will receive. Sounds like that would meet your needs as well. I didn’t use it because if you turn off the truck and don’t open a door you get I think a 10min time out on the radio. Not normally a problem with a switch panel I just wanted straight ACC and ignition.

Just want you to solve it and finish your project!

Interesting I’ll have to check that and see if there’s any power to it. I was thinking about getting a 3 prong fuse tap and use the usb fuse which is F26.
If that doesn’t work I’ll just call it a day and use the fuse you recommended. I mainly wanted it in case I go fishing on the beach I can have the lights light up the surf but other than that I don’t see me using them or needing it other than when I’m driving and going in reverse.

So I’ve been messing with the lights for a bit now and finally got the Auxbeam switch wired up. I ended up purchasing the 3 prong fuse tap and just tapped into the usb port and it works beautifully.
Yesterday I started working on solving my other problem which was the limited side visibility at night. Bought some cheap rock lights to see if it will actually work the way I thought it would and after tinkering around with it a bit I finally got to a place I’m happy with it. I just put 3 light on so far to see how it looks but I have one in the wheel well and two under the doors. Ones that are under the doors are mounted to the steps so that they illuminate further out and it worked pretty good. Not as good as my previous truck that had the built in puddle light but better than pitch black.

Reviving this from the grave.

For those running any of the fancy switches (AuxBeam, Garmin, SwitchPros, etc) is there a way to not only perform simple on/off functionality for winch power — but also the ability to perform line in & out functionality of the winch?

If so, am I correct it will take 3 switches? The wheels started turning when I saw @john151ama picture below.

Also, saw some struggling with rivnuts. For a few cents of hardware it’s pretty easy.

You are right at least for the Auxbeam panel. The buttons are simple on/off. So you would need 1 switch for in and 1 switch for out. My winch button turns my winch on. I have a heavy duty solenoid under the hood on the winch positive wire between the winch and battery. My winch button turns the solenoid on sending the battery power to the winch. I wasn’t able to find a “winch” only sticker, so I ended up covering the “in” to make it more accurate.

Thank you!

Do you know if the AuxBeam has the ability to work as “momentary switches” meaning they are only powered while pushed? When not pushed they default to the off position. This would be ideal for using to winch line in or out.

I am looking at wiring my winch similar. Relocating the controller under the hood. Will run the main power to a 500a relay/solenoid. Then will use a switch to toggle on/off main power. Effectively a battery isolator switch. So I want the on/off functionality to remain separate.

Did this on my Bronco the same way but used the factory upfitter switches. Those switches had no momentary functionality so it was simple on/off. I miss having those switches, lol.

My version is just on/off switches. But Auxbeam makes another version you can program for on/off, strobe, or momentary. Check on Amazon. The AR-820 is a 8 switch version that lets you select how each switch functions.
