Amp power step

Installed mine today. Instructions weren’t great but they did specify the holes. I took off my stationary boards and these new brackets used the same holes. Install wasn’t bad. Wiring and securing everything with zip ties took a bit. The worst part though was drilling out the pinch welds for the lights. The whole thing took about 4.5-5 hours working alone.
Does yours have a noticeable gap where they meet the truck?

The first photo is the front of the boards and the second is the back end.

Mine is a 2021, not sure if your AT4 is the refresh but I couldn’t imagine the mounting points being placed differently to account for the gap you have.

Would anyone be able to snap a quick picture of where their rear bracket is mounted to the truck by any chance? I’m thinking mine needs to be moved to the 2 holes closer to the front of the truck but that shop is telling me the holes don’t line up with the bracket but I think it’s total BS. Thank you all for your replies. You guys are awesome!

They go in the second set of holes counting from the back.

For whatever reason, the pinch welds on GM vehicles and I guess most vehicles are like drilling hardened steel. You'll go through some drill bits.

My wife came out to check on me after the 3rd or 4th F bomb dropped, 😂. Didn’t take the holes as big as instructed out frustration and worked the wires and grommets in. Little rustoleum paint and silicone adhesive along the way to minimize future rusting.
Only comments from passengers is the thud when the boards retract. If coming from stationary steps you’ll notice it but get used to it quickly. Wife and MIL really like the lights and find the drop easier to make the first step.

Mine would come out if'n she didn't hear any f bombs! 😉

I've had them on a couple trucks and zero problems. One note though, I doubt you need the "extremes" unless you have some kind of super lift. I'm 72, 8 orthopedic surgeries from a lifetime of hard work, stiff as a board, and the regular steps are fine for me.
