23 Infotainment Center issues, IDK what to do anymore.

I went to my dealership and there is a bulletin on this issue. They did download a file and as of Monday 1/22/24 I have not had an issue.

Went to my appointment got my 2023 GMC Sierra Denali back from dealership 1/22/24. They found Bulletin 23-na-183 for radio software concerns. They uploaded the top software in the attached and so far no issues I hope this helps.
question:
Did they have to force the update? Mine says “no updates available”.

Service tech said he looked and no updates or bulletins. I felt less than confident with the dealer and figure I’ll need to hold their hand through this. Did they download and install it via USB or dealer tool? Thanks!

Yes I think they forced it but now today the issue came back so do not bother it is not fixed.

I did a factory reset which helped with performance. Def not perfect - but def much better.

You’d think Google would be all over GM and get this fixed since it’s also their reputation .

I eliminated the PIN code today - will see how it goes.

This is why I’m an Apple person.

I will say: we have a Tesla, pretty damn good, but has a lot of glitches as well (freezes, drops, doesn’t recognize the drivers phone). Have an X5, and CarPlay has literally never worked right over 6 years…..and they discontinued the cellular chip at year 4 and have no upgrade path.

No matter how long I hold the end call button the system will not reboot. Any ideas?
You may have already done this, but:

Shut off vehicle, get out, close and lock the doors....wait 5 minutes
Unlock, get back-in, start engine, and let infotainment start...once fully booted to whatever condition it usually ends up.....
Hold "end-call" button down for 10+ seconds......does it start to reboot?
If it does, at reboot, shut off engine - open drivers door for 15 seconds, close
Restart vehicle, allow infotainment to run through reboot process, test.

If the end-call button does not reboot infotainment, and your vehicle has google built-in system, You may have more than a software issue, may have a wiring or configuration defect.

I would open a case with GM Customer Service (noting your dealer is unable to help and GM instructions do not work). You want this case open for documentation, giving them a fair chance to resolve, may also kick-off the correct GM technical rep to get involved. Much of this technology is new to the shops, and with hiring constraints still in play since the pandemic....likely just not the right person looking at it. I had less than a stellar experience with a local dealer, clearly just didn't have qualified service writer, or service technician.
