2022 Refresh Order Experience

I can’t thank you enough. Man this whole process has been frustrating. I ordered my truck in January and am still waiting on it. So far Havnt seen anybody else that has waited as long as me. Not sure what happened. And then it’s finally “ready to ship” and the dang railroad is threatening to go on strike. Unbelievable.

I’m right there with you. Ordered in Jan built last week of May and still nothing. I’m going into another dealer tomorrow to order a 23. I spoke to them yesterday and they have two allocations. At this point I’d rather wait a little longer for something that hasn’t been sitting for four months.

I’ve thought about doing the same thing a million times at this point. But I’d be paying close to $10k more for the truck. Price protection is the only reason I’m still having the conversation. If I was to reorder the exact same 2022 truck I have on order it’s like $8500 more now than in January. It’s ridiculous.

true story….I have a friend that ordered a dodge ram that took 11 months to show up. By the time it got to the dealer the MSRP had gone up $9k. He drove down to pick it up from the dealer and they offered him $12k check to walk away from it. He drove home in his old truck and a check for $12k. Dealership marked it up the $9k to current MSRP …. And then put another $15k market adjustment on it and sold it in 24 hours. They still made $13k plus kick backs. Such a crazy world we are living in. It’s why it so hard to get good customer service from anyone as well. The minute you get mad and walk away…they all make a ton of extra money. Frustrating. Good luck with your 2023! Hopefully things are better by the time they start shipping them.

Got mine last week. 2022 at4x ordered last October. I leveled it and put the 20” wheels I loved on my 2019 at4

I got tired of waiting too. Your situation is pretty common considering most of us have been awaiting chips my truck was built 6/1 and still waiting chips. I’ve reached out to the executive team and it hasn’t helped at all. I said screw it, started looked around every dealer within a 200 mile radius that had the truck I built already in the lot till I found one. I would call see if they would be willing to let it go at MSRP if they said no “market adjustments”I moved on. Anyway i said screw it and canceled my order for a at4 and found an at4x at MSRP only problem I had little bit higher interest rate but picked it up today!

I did get 0% interest for 36 months - I think that’s good for any new sierra purchase until early October…

Man... 36 Months is a short term, you either put quite a bit down or have one hell of a monthly payment...

Just send an email that you are concerned about GMs delays. They will have someone call you once a week to give you an update. It will be the same info you get from the dealer or GM chat. Their scripted response is there is a global chip shortage. Ask questions. They try to spend as little time with you as possible. I irritated one last week saying I am tired of the scripted response and would like more detailed information. She snapped back that we don't have scripted responses. I told her I realize she is only the messenger.
How long did it take Mary to reply?

I haven’t heard from the resolution team in three weeks. I’m going to call them tomorrow as I have my persons extension. I’m going to push the issue that it has now been in their hands for over four weeks and they haven’t resolved anything. It’s now week 16 since my truck was built. I’m beyond frustrated. I get the delays and I would be more understanding if trucks built after weren’t being delivered. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this system and anybody you talk to is absolutely useless. There are quite a few ZR2 around me I’m considering I just like the GMC look so much more.

Aug 14th I received a email from GM saying my truck was complete and has been released to the carrier. Contacted my dealer and they said it should be shipped by next week. On September 21st I received another weekly email stating my truck is still awaiting a shipment of semi conductors. My dealer now confirmed the same. Waiting on chip. I'm confused by all of this. Dealer was very sorry.

So I found another AT4 with the options I wanted that was marked in transit to a dealership in Oklahoma. I put down a deposit to reserve it and now the dealership is telling me it is in Indiana. For others who have trucks stuck in Indiana awaiting semiconductors, is the truck still showing in transit to the dealership?
