Hey Guys,
New to the forum but have been following along for a while gathering info and reading up on others experiences.
Little Information here:
Ordered a 2022 AT4 Refresh March 24th
Order Picked up April 21st
Built May 28th
Vin Confirmation June 9th
Here is a quick recap on my experience so far:
1st and foremost GMC Chat is a joke. Don't waste your time. there is to much conflicting data and they never give you the same answer. you get copy paste responses and when you press for data 9 times out of 10 they make things up.
I took one members recommendation and emailed Mary Barra to which she simply forwarded my email to the Executive Resolution Team. They claimed to have filed paper work to help expedite the shipping of my vehicle but proceeded to ignore any and all questions I had previously sent to Mrs. Barra. When I asked them directly I simply got the response that my dealer would have more information.
This has been a long, drawn out and frustrating process for me just as it has been for many of you and continues to be. Especially since I have seen 1st hand a buddy of mine order a F250 and get it in 4.5 months and a brother in law order a Dodge and expect delivery within the next two weeks on a similar time frame of 4.5 months.
I reached out to GMC chat this week as well as my contact at the dealership. GMC Chat - the waste of time - told me I was still waiting on a chip. I proceeded to give them the additional information I had received from Exec Referral Team and they said they don't have any of that information as their systems do not talk. My rep at the dealership and I had quite a bit of correspondence today and here is what I learned/partially already knew.
My truck was built in the Mexico facility. As of September 6th it has been switched to "Internal Invoice" & "Available to Ship" Status. Previous correspondence with GMC chat quoted me 8-12 weeks for shipping. I aske my rep and he said he has seen up to 8 weeks for delivery based on the status change. Although he couldn't say for sure as GM is now converting to transport via boat and not truck from the Mexico plant.
Assuming this data is correct the dealership could receive my truck at the latest November 1st. That's roughly a 7 month time frame from the time the order was picked up.
There are still plenty of what ifs to come and questions I have but they won't be answered until delivery is made. (Ex: Quality control, performance, financing, etc.)
I wanted to share what I have learned and know to potentially help others get to the finish line or limit some of the frustration. There is still no vehicle in my possession but at least I have a time frame to hold them too at this point.
P.S. I don't know if the Executive Resolution Team actually helped or if it is just coincidence that my truck is now available to ship.
