2022 Refresh Order Experience

It’s official the wait is over and the truck is in my driveway. I ordered it on April 30th, received it today September 3 rd.

Sorry if this has already been asked but what was your build?

Thanks, the inconsistency of the trucks being delivered is strange. I wonder if locations have something to do with it. If they use different plants for different areas. I have not really looked into it much. I have the tech, and safety package on mine as well. I imagine yours will be here soon.

Hey bud, keep pushing them. I’m not sure if I was next on the list or if my threats to cancel the order worked (I didn’t think they’d care) but somehow I was able to get my truck completed and shipped this week. No clue where it is still or an ETA and the dealer can’t even track it but I at least also got the GM email saying it was on the way.

That's awesome!! Congrats man, I believe we had the same build dates, hopefully I get some positive news soon.

Ordered my AT4 3.0 Duramax, safety, technology and AT4 premium no sunroof- 3/17
Production week 6/27 in Indiana
has 2 retrofit chips to be put in by the build sheet

Dealer still says no update on shipping. GMC advisor has been saying for weeks that I need to check with dealer on shipping updates. This morning dealer said it seems to be sitting in the lot to be shipped (not sure how he knows that) but the GMC advisor said Congrats your truck is in transit. It amazes me that they can't seem to have the same info. Hopefully the advisor is correct this time.

I’m in the exact scenario you are..ordered 3/25, built 7/12. Dealer has no info (and won’t return calls) GM chat gives me the automated “your vehicle has been produced” responses. Haven’t gotten your latest update hoping I’m not far behind you. I’m very close to ordering a 23 through another dealer and depending on how long this 22 takes to get in is which truck I’ll take. I have a locked in interest rate on the 22 until Oct. After that I will likely be going after the 23.

It's definitely frustrating and I have been weighing my options. I have thought about settling and buying one that's on a lot but I know as soon as I do that I will get a call saying my truck is in. I left my salesman a message and sent him an email with a screenshot of the GMC advisor saying congrats its in transit. I will update when I get his response.

Similar to you. Premium, technology, no sunroof, Duramax, std bed (why I knew I would have to order one), 18" wheels. Ordered early March. Built last week in May in MX. Sitting in purgatory. The weekly messages change up on their own. Sometimes they say waiting to ship and others waiting for a chip. Dealer says waiting for a chip. Haven't asked in weeks though.

Looks like it isn't just Mexico. I did the resolution route a couple of weeks ago and it is a waste of time. When I ask questions about delays the scripted response is "I can only speak specifically about your truck."

Ordered mine 4/30 - built on 7/12. Been, "Pending Dispatch" sitting in a lot in Indiana per my dealer who checks every Tuesday via his VIN finder program. He called the Great Lakes Business center - nothing they can do etc. He's lost several sales due to impatient customers moving on to competitors. I called GMC customer service and gave the last eight of my VIN. She stated it's basically awaiting to be shipped - not enough Truck drivers etc. and it could take 8-12 weeks to be delivered from the build date; this is week 8. I also considered ordering a '23, my dealer talked me out of it, stated the price is higher - onstar making all '23 customers to sign up for 3 yrs of onstar - an additional $1500 on Sierra's is what I was told plus some other additional price increases etc. Also stated that I would receive my '22 before the '23.

I hope we are also price protected from the onstar charge. I noticed that the window sticker on some of the 22s at dealers are showing up with onstar listed as an option instead of the earlier builds where it is listed as included on the left side of the sticker. I believe I read that the added cost started sometime in June. I asked my dealer and he didn't know. He knows my VIN but can't pull up the sticker since it is not fully built.
