1500 AT4 aftermarket wheels and tires - what do you have?

First of all, that is quite a story and trip! Would love to have been able to do something like that in my 20's or 30's!

I will update the thread when I get the MT BB's on!
Keep us posted on your experience with MT BB.

You are correct. I was 24 at the time; every day of that journey was an interesting chapter, full of anticipation, danger and adventure, in my yet unfinished book. Stayed there for 6 months however had to ship the car back from Calcutta to Bristol England since war had broken out in the middle east, something we very narrowly missed on the way down.

Sounds like an amazing adventure! I'm jealous!

I will definitely post after I get the MT BB's on.

You gotta join the club :)
I'm working on it but I need to go 40 inches at some point. Probably run 37" until then. And I might go with the mud terrain so then technically I would be running

Had these installed on Friday. RRW RR7-h 17x8.5 w/ 0 offset wrapped in 285/75/17 Falken WildPeak AT4w. Minor rubbing on drivers side so I removed the factory mudflaps. Have the RC mudflap delete kit ordered and that should fix the last little bit of rubbing. The 17s cleared the caliper just fine and with the 0 offset there is just a lil bit of poke. The tires are really quiet, huge improvement over the Goodyears.
How much space between your tire and upper control arm? Want to do this same wheel size as well as tire but with a 17x8.5 with a 7mm offset wheel I have been looking at. Just not sure if sucking wheel in an extra 7mm or about 1/4” would cause it to rub on control arm…?

Tried to do some measurements but can’t get anything accurate. I would say it’s around 7/16”, which you would be close but it would work. What wheels are you looking at? I called the manufacturer of the wheels I got to confirm they would clear the caliper and the UCA , I would say you should do the same just to confirm clearance. I would think factory UCAs might be different than after market ones as well, which I’m running BDS UCAs.

Fuel Vector 17x8.5 7mm offset. Have rough country upper control arms for 3.5” lift and Bilstein 6100 at max 1.2” lift up front. Want to run 285/75/17 tire setup.

So Custom Offsets says they are compatible. I would just call Fuel and verify with them. You could always put on some 3/8” spacers to just to make sure.

Well fingers crossed. Don't want to add a spacer if I don't need to. Ordered the wheels. Now gotta pick out a set of shoes. I have brand new Falken at4's on my 20" factory wheels. I was out hunting this past weekend in the snow and honestly was not impressed at all with the new Falken AT4. My AT3's were way better in the snow. Was really disappointing. Not a lot of options in the 285/75/17. May try the BF K03's but dang their heavy at 64 pounds each. The Cooper Strongholds. They're E rated and 5 pounds less a tire, look nice but there are no reviews of them yet as it's a pretty new tire. Maybe I should play around with tire pressures and see if my current Falken AT4's do better in the snow before I decide against them. Running about 44 PSI right now. Thanks for checking your clearance for me.

Right on. Yea I ran into the same problem with the tire sizes. The KO3s were just so much more expensive as well. First time using Falkens and I’m running my AT4s at 40psi this winter with no problems. Had to add 120lbs in the bed to help with traction because of the carbon pro. So that may help as well.

It appears that very few folks go with 18" wheels. To those that went with 295/70 R18 with a level kit, were you able to get a specific offset to eliminate rub or find a specific rim/tire that minimized rub? I had 295s on my Tundra and really thought it was an optimum size. I also dont want to get rid of my gatorback mudflaps. Thanks!

Try to stay with positive to zero offset wheels. That will minimize the swing of the tire as you turn. I made the mistake of going with -12 offset and my 295/70r18 falkens kiss the crash bars on the frame and mud flaps don’t fit. I’ll probably end up getting the same wheel in 0 offset to make everything fit better 💸

Got my 17x8.5 +7mm offset Fuel Vector wheels. Test fit and installed rim and cleared the caliper by about 1/8". Ordered 285/75/17 BF KO3 tires at Costco and should have them by middle of next week. Will post pics when installed. Can't wait.
