Which dash cam to buy????

I don’t get it … why do I have to buy a dash cam (or any other kind of cam) for an $85,000 truck? Why aren’t all the cams on the truck being used to capture any/everything (parked or moving) in realtime? I pay Ring $100 per year for cloud access of unlimited cameras at my residence (there are four different plans, including free). Are you telling me that GM can’t figure out a way to monetize the cameras on the vehicle? This doesn’t speak well for the engineers at any car company (except Tesla). Do better GM!

I agree, was just saying this exact thing while at lunch with a group of friends an hour ago.

I got this front and rear camera system for my AT4 and it looks like a factory installation. Not super fancy but it does the job if you’re ever in an accident.

I installed a nice GPS style DashCam in my 25 AT4. Hard wiring is a bit tricky because of the fancy fuse boxes located on both sides of the truck and the style of fuses needed, but can be done with a nice clean finished look. Absolutely get a rear facing camera, if ur gonna go thru the hassle of installing a front face cam, (tucking wires) then the rear facing camera will be no challenge.

I have that one as well and it's identical to the FitcamX and also offers a GPS module. I am pretty sure they are both made by the same company.

This is what I purchased, I like that as soon as the ignition is turned on its recording. The other day it was about 95° so like usual as soon as I get in I turn the ignition on and start the truck to start cooling it off. As I’m watching a work van pull in next to me about six inches from the passenger side of my 2025 HD AT4 I honk and yell at the kid. He then proceeds to back up and turn away from the truck and as he does his mirror puts a dent over the rear wheel well on the quarter panel. I think people from 200 yards away across the shopping center could hear me yelling at the driver. I proceed to ask for license and insurance. In the end he try’s to say that he wasn’t moving and it wasn’t his fault. I pulled up the camera video and it shows me get in sit for about 20 seconds without moving at all then the van pulls up and you can then hear me yelling and honking at him. It’s amazing how quick his story changed. Small dent with a small thin black line that cleaned up but my dealers estimate is $1950. So the $200 I spent is well worth it. I didn’t purchase the full
Front and rear but if I was to purchase again I would get both cameras. I just really wish GM would offer a way to utilize all the Preinstalled cameras.

They are a highly professional bunch and I had no hesitation paying them for installation. Their after sales service and support is top notch, can call them anytime during working hours and talk to a real person; they are extremely helpful.

I noticed the fit cam doesn’t have park video due to no power when key is off. Is there an option where full time 12V could be supplied and it will have park video? Seems like it would be nice to have in case someone backs into you in a parking lot and you can maybe see who did it

They offer another wiring harness so that you can wire it to a constant 12V supply. That will give you parking mode. Splicing in on the rear view mirror is only hot with the ignition on.

Despite having a truck with dual batteries, I don't risk connecting my Blackvue 970X to them in parking mode; instead I have suitable backup batteries (total 14,000mAh) which provide enough juice to keep the camera, sim card, wifi etc, operating for around 24 hrs. The batteries charge when ignition is on. (all this was wired in by the vendor). Backup batteries were quite expensive and even connect to an app to verify its charging state and condition when desired. I switch off backup batteries when indoors in my garage.

I put a dash cam in my truck last year and went with one that had both front and rear, and honestly the rear caught more “close calls” than I expected. The install was pretty easy since it tucked under the trim. I looked at Mangoal too, but ended up choosing based on video clarity in low light—same reason I picked my best camera for vlogging. If you park in busy lots or do highway driving, that rear cam can be worth it.
