Which dash cam to buy????

Unless you want something premium with live remote feed, with notifications and cloud recording etc. and only if you need remote monitoring in parking mode etc. since it can get expensive; I ignored the cost having spent so much on my truck and value its safety no matter where it is parked. Details in my signature.

The reason I want the Cam was to prove the accident was not my fault. If they steal it I just don’t want it back, otherwise I can live with a bumper scuff. Felt better to me than a parasitic battery drain.

The Rove R2-4K is a great unit and reasonably priced. I have three of them in my various vehicles. Just buy a large volume SD card for 8 hours of recording. I believe the one that the others are talking about fits into the rearview mirror assembly which is a great idea. However, Amazon sells a power cord that taps into the mirror wiring that has a short cord to power any brand of dash cam. It's a great solution so you can choose the camera you want. I also want to be able to easily remove mine and check the card.

Second the rove I have one in each vehicle. The bigger thing than the camera to look for is the app. A lot of these cameras (looking at you Garmin) have $#IT apps that never work. Rove always connects to my phone.

Buy a dash cam in a $ range you don’t care about spending again to replace if it fails. 99% of dash cams have at best a 2 year warranty but after 90-180days from purchase they charge a processing fee. My $500 dash cam decided reboot endlessly one day. Service fee for warranty was $120.
Didn’t send it in or buy another dash cam over $200.

I vote for this one also, I have it on all my cars. They make their device look factory in the car, that’s what sold me and easy to setup.
Would have gone with this dash cam hands down due to the OEM fit and finish, however doesn't record speed. So that was a deal breaker for me.

Then go for what I have if you are really serious about recording all the info but like I said there are ongoing costs; sim card, which is part of my business mobile plan; then $3.99/month for Blackvue Cloud (only if you want remote live view of upto 30 minutes a day).

I've never owned a dash cam before and I'm shopping for one for my new 1500 at4x.
I'm looking for reviews or advice on which one to buy.
Been looking at Mangoal and Fitcamx.
Also can't decide if I need rear facing camera or not???
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a nextbase cam on my truck with a rear facing camera. I like this dash cam because it allows you to use a rear facing cameras or an interior camera.

On my wife’s Jeep wrangler I installed a Rexing M2 dash cam. It’s a dash cam that goes over your rear view mirror. It’s rear camera is also you rear view mirror (just like the rear camera mirror that come with GM’s technology package).

I have the Drone XC F/R - Only downside is subscription based - for the truck. Other cars have a Thinkware F/R and a Vantage F/R.

Regardless, highly recommend getting both F/R.
