What did you do to your AT4 today?

Busy day today. Installed 4 inch stubby antenna, soft fold tonneau cover, started some paint correction and waxing (still have front fenders forward to do), and flipped the rear blocks for a reverse level. The rear sat so high and I had no intentions of lifting the front further. I may need to do air bags or a 1 inch block in the spring when it comes camping time but I’ll deal with that when I get there.View attachment 21389View attachment 21390View attachment 21391View attachment 21392
How does that antenna do for reception? I like the look.

I tried FM radio this morning so I could give you a better answer. I didn't use it before the change, so I don't really have a frame of reference, and full disclosure, I live in a pretty rural area, so we only get a couple stations. Our one country station was a little spotty, it seemed to do better when I turned the HD radio option off. The other station we have is a classic rock station, and that came in pretty clear. I hardly ever listen to the radio, it's usually spotify playlists or podcasts, so my application was more for looks. I got it for 25-30 bucks on Amazon, so no real loss there if it doesn't work out.

Well I didn't do it, but my 16 yo daughter did. Picture speaks for itself! She bent the rim & blew out the sidewall on a curb. She said she swerved to avoid a duck. When I got there, I saw 7 ducks and if I had my pistol I think I would have shot them! Asked her if she learned something…other than she would be paying for the mistake. Her response was to be more careful….i said NO, YOU RUN OVER THE F&CK!NG DUCK! I won't make her pay for the whole wheel & tire, but I will be garnishing her pay for at least a month or so!

Mine is the same way. We don't allow her to drive Amy of our vehicles anymore. Mine wrecked my wife's brand new Lexus 5 days after we bought it. She drives her own car now, and pays for her own insurance.

Thats right. Just keep driving and if they get in the way oh well. We have an invasive species of ducks here that are considered a nuisance by the state of FL. I know people who try to hit them and the ducks usually get out of the way.

I grew up in S. FL...those are the ugliest creatures I've ever seen! And I kinda had no choice but to let her drive the truck to work & home. Her car is having hail damage repaired this week, wife is at a work function with her vehicle & I was out with some of my retirement buddies. So I was kinda stuck...At least I had help to change the tire as there were 5 (mostly sober) adult males. That wheel & tire is HEAVY as I threw it up into the bed!

Funny part is I got a happy 1 yr anniversary of ownership from the dealer last week!

Wow! Ouch!

Glad I'm way past that age with my now, two grown up kids however both are great drivers, I would trust them with all our vehicles, not that they ever need them.

Son went through three different used cars through school and college; the last one, an Audi, someone crashed into him while he waited at a light, insurance paid out and from thereon he's been on his own. He's owned S500s, S550, Maserati, and a few others; I think a Ferrari or an Aston Martin is next on his list. Lives in Vegas, is a techie and invests in stocks etc. he's doing great, owns several properties, no worries there. Daughter was a slightly different story; helped her with her first car while she was in Uni back in Southampton U.K. She moved to Canada, we gave her $10,000 towards her first business venture, a restaurant in Whistler BC; she turned that into a multi-million dollar business; she now owns several restaurants in Whistler, a fleet of food delivery vehicles plus trucks etc. We are blessed! 🙏

My exhaust code mysteriously vanished last night. Not sure whether I should keep my appointment next week or wait to see if it comes back. Guess I'll call the dealer and see what they wanna do. Waiting on a couple amazon purchases. Stubby radio antenna today, tonneau cover tommorrow.
2021 1500 AT4 with 3.0. I have had this code 6 to 7 times. When I do a lot of idling or stuck in Houston traffic for long periods of time I will get the code. I have the Banks Idash to monitor regens and other items. I usually will use Idash and do a manual regen. Once I start driving it will go into regen and I will drive it until if is finished. Once I go through 3 cycles of start/stops the check engine light will go out.

Just FYI, $985/rim and they are on national backorder from GM (no expected shipping date). Dealership is reaching out to other dealers for stock. Keeping my fingers crossed. I guess I'll be driving without a spare for awhile. I did find a set on Facebook Market Place, guy won't sell me just one...I get that, but I had to ask.

Okay that makes sense. I was running a few errands around town around that time, maybe that had something to do with it. Usually if I'm in and out of a store or two quick, I just let it idle. Maybe I'm nuts, but I figure it was better to keep the operating temps up and not do a lot of starts and stops. I always turn off the autostop button too. I can't see the constant starting and stopping being good for it, but maybe I'm wrong there. I also have always driven pretty conservatively, so maybe that lends to it too. I do a lot of highway miles, but I don't beat the snot out of my vehicles. My first diesel engine, so I planned on there being a bit of a learning curve. Thanks!

I thought the autostop feature was a gasoline engine feature; I may be wrong but don't think my 2500HD Duramax 6.6 has it.
I can't speak on the HD trucks, but the 3.0 1500's have it and I hate it ha. I need to just buy the module and turn it off completely.
