What did you do to your AT4 today?

It had been a while since I detailed the truck, it was due. Following a wash and dry, here are results following a pass of paint sealer; other coats to follow such as waxes, ceramic sprays etc. Detailing inlclude door jams, pillars, complete roof etc. Also did AEV wheels.

Installed DV8 Spec Series front bumper today! Also wired in an Auxbeam switch panel. I only have the center light bar installed behind bumper grill so far. 22 inch. Spot/Flood with selectable white or amber DRL. I have ordered cube lights from Strands for the outer 2 holes. Dark Knight Fortex series with amber colored position light/DRLs. I decided to make the center light bar DRL be white by default and tapped into factory wiring for that. I can switch it to amber with the switch panel. Once the cubes arrive, I think it will look awesome with amber at the corners and white in the center. Especially at night to compliment the illuminated GMC emblem. Can't wait! Most likely I will do the rear bumper at some point as well.

Since I'm retired, and don't drive much, I keep the truck on a Battery Tender when it's in the garage. With the battery on the passenger side of the truck, I'd have to shimmy between the truck and storage shelves to get to that side of the vehicle to hook it to the battery. Getting tired of doing this, I got a Battery Tender bolt-in harness and 6' extension so I could permanently tie the Tender wires to the battery and route the extension around the front of the engine bay to the driver's side just behind the headlight. Now, all I have to do is lift the hood and plug it in from the driver's side.

I also took the time to install the Airraid tube I got from another member here. The install went well after I wrestled the old air box off. It's clipped somehow to a brace coming off the alternator. I ended up pretty much breaking the tab, but finally got it off. The Airraid instructions on this part of the installation process really sux!

While I had everything apart, I yanked those nasty valve cover covers. I prefer to see the mechanical bits, not seeing those silly covers. I'd have pulled the intake cover off, that that's a bit more involve, and I was already swimming in sweat in the Houston heat and humidity. Maybe this winter. I really like the cleaned up look now.

It is an awning only. They make a wall kit to enclose the set up. The poles fold into the canopy. All arms fold into themselves and then into the bag on the rack. I can have it fully open in less than 30sec. Packing up maybe 2 mins.
Can you share a picture of it all packed up for travel mode please?

Here it is all bundled up. I don’t have a picture from behind all bundled. It weighs about 60#. I can place it on the rack and secure it myself. The recommend 2 people but once I get it set across the rack it secures with track bolts and nylon nuts. As far as awnings go, this was around $475 and covers a little over 100sq ft. They are side specific so that is the limitation compared to a square side awning. It covers the tailgate around to the passenger door. Handles up to a 20mph wind without needing support ropes/anchors.

After all that work, I'm going to tell you that ya could've made/bought a 7way to 12v sae adapter for your tender and plugged it into your 7way. 😇

Or you could've went full @pinebaron and installed a bumper connector eliminating the hood opening, if'n you don't have working room at the rear bumper.

Very cool! Now I gotta ask about that TV! Hahaha. Is that mounted there for tailgating? If so, how? Or is it an optical illusion, and it's really just in your garage and not on the rack?

Power is limited at that end of the garage. I also prefer to put the hood up. While we try to do our best to keep the area vermin-free, they do get in the garage, and LOVE under-hood components to keep them warm and to dine on, so up goes the hood. We do the same with the cars out in our shop, especially after we discovered they had started nests in two of our vehicle's hoodliner pads!

Heh, while shopping for the 6' extension cable for the current setup, I got a Battery Tender bulkhead connector, but that was specifically for our 3rd Gen Trans Am race car. Installed it on the front of the B-pillar to make plugging the tender power more-convenient.

I could have probably added one for the truck, but, again, having the hood up when it's parked in the garage is a good thing.

Got the amber Dark Knight Fortex cubes installed today. I selected 5000K. I didn't bother permanently connecting the temperature selection wire to a momentary switch. I liked the middle ground between cool and warm, so just capped off the wire. Also installed Boost Auto fast wireless charging pad in the console lid. Didn't bother with a pic of that. Productive afternoon! 😁

Since GM doesn't offer pre-painted Thunderstorm Gray wheel trim I bought some GM smooth primed trims and painted them myself.
Used paint from TouchupDirect and it matched perfect.

If you look at my rear window I also installed the gloss black trim pieces above and below the sliding window, stock they are flat black plastic pieces. Now it matches the glass.
