Done a lot lately! I'll have to take some pics and videos later to share. But so far I've installed RealTruck elevate rack and rails under factory installed Rev (Bakflip MX4) tonneau. The added 1/4 inch height from additional rails makes the folded up tonneau block the 2 cams in the center brakelight. I may do a couple relocate kits eventually. Installed led strips in bed under rails and hooked them up to cargo light circuit (required a relay, too much draw otherwise). Installed sequential led strip between tailgate and bumper. Added Sequential running board strips. Added AVS Aerocab Pro marker lights. Added oem illuminated Red front GMC emblem. Added Baja Designs small reverse lights under bumper. Replaced front door (powerbass),and dash corner (AudioControl PNW-275) speakers. Added oem Kicker subwoofer (fed signal from factory bose mini sub, not door speaker).
WHAT I ACTUALLY DID TODAY, was add a cargo light switch in the bed. I put it in small existing round hole in pass side stake pocket. I can't believe GM didn't give us one! Very simple. I bought a small momentary switch from Amazon. It has two connections. One goes directly to ground. The other goes all the way up along the frame rail to the cab. I entered through a rubber grommet under driver's side floor carpet. I tried to solder a piece of 20 gauge solid wire to the stranded but i suck, and failed. I used a heat shrink butt connector. This gave me a little solid "pin" at the end of my wire. This "pin" gets pushed right into pin spot 18 in the blue bcm connector. It's a solid grey wire. Zip tie everything in place. That's it. Now my switch in the back does exactly what yhe factory switch in the cab does. It works in conjunction too. I can use either to turn on or off all my cargo lights!
