What did you do to your AT4 today?

You didn't install the silicone pads on the brackets!

Even when I had a winches installed, I always carried/still carry a hi-lift jack. They will bust your jaw if you don't respect them, but they are worth the price of admission!
In the Jeep world hi lift jacks are mostly either hated or used as decoration. A few people swear by them. Obviously not used as decoration under the Diamondback cover. They can certainly be used to give yourself a broken jaw.

For storage lol. The jacks that come with are truck are absolutely garbage, they are awesome if you get a flat while off roading. Also you can use them as a come along winch "for those of us that don't have one installed just yet lol". I love it install under the Diamond back, its out of the way, clean look, and doesn't rumble around the bed of the truck while driving.
I've never taken the OEM jack out at all to check its capabilities :( ; please tell me more about this hi-lift jack and where to get it from since I have the same Diamondback HD cover.

Any offroad store should carry them. I got mine from the tractor supply store down the road from my house.

Ok now I know what you mean. I did, however I placed them down a little so the body line and the pad line up. So you can't see them but they are installed.

A much safer option is the ARB Jack.

Also a much more expensive option.

Until the hi-lift slips and breaks your jaw/nose/arm/other body part…

Yeah 875.00, thats a bit to much for how much I would use it. I've used my highlift 8 to 10 times in The last 9 years. I could see spending that if I was using it weekly or even monthly.

I totally agree with this; it’s really hard to justify that price. I’ve never used a high lift; I’ve just heard a lot of stories of how dangerous they are.

I used mine several times when I had a Jeep, a couple of times out on the trail. Also used it as a spring compressor when installing a spacer lift on my 2016 Ram 1500. Probably not the safest thing but it worked!

I like the ARB jack; I need to check if it will fit where Johnv76 has his hi-lift installed, out of the way. It makes sense to have a safe hi-lift when needed if its for precautionary use.

I got a floor jack with a long handle from Harbor Freight. I took the factory jack out and put it up on a shelf to store and will put back in truck if I ever sell. That little spot it sat in was just another small place to store something else under the seat

I need something I could use on gravel, off-road and trails. I liked the ad/video for ARB however its reviews reveal poor quality. I have no problem paying for a good product if it exists. I did not even realize I'd need a hi-lift jack for outdoor use until this conversation started. At home I use a 3 ton floor jack with 6x6 blocks to get the truck off the ground for each wheel, not the best thing, I need to get a suitable hi-lift floor jack for use at home.

Winter, summer, fall, rain, snow, or shine a high lift jack will never fail you. However as stated above, just know how to use it, and use it safely and it will work every time.
