So I’ve spent the last almost 3 hours messing with these lights. This has been a total pain in the ass install. I ended up taking off the crossmember from the corner of the bumper with a 15 mm socket and that helped a lot. AEV can kiss my ass with their T-15 head screws.
So after getting them on, and then aiming them as far down as they’ll go (the top of them is touching the flange on the bumper itself, so they can’t be tilted down anymore), they are still too high. They are shining higher than my low beams and don’t have a strong horizontal cut off. So now I’m going to have to take them off again and put spacers on at least two of the three (if not all three) bolts to get them further away from the bumper bezel so that I can then aim them down further.
It’s such a pain in the ass getting your hands behind this bumper to do this mod. If I knew it was gonna be this much of a pain, I don’t think I would’ve done it.
Update: I used a 1/4-20 nut as a spacer and it worked perfectly. I aimed them low enough not to blind people. But way too much time for this mod. Yes, the light is better, but it’s not awesome.
