Hey all. I have a 2023 Sierra 1500 AT4 and I’m wondering if anyone has any knowledge about the possibility of swapping out the absolutely worthless OEM USB-A and USB-C ports with upgraded fast charging ports? I work a lot from the road and these ports don’t even keep my laptop charged. My 120v outlet is already in use by something else and GM dumped the 12V outlets on the 2023. Also curious if it’s possible to swap out the garbage wireless charger for something that can actually charge the phone with some type of speed. And no, Boost Auto Parts doesn’t make a wireless charger replacement for the models with the wireless chargers under the armrest. Has anyone installed a 12v lighter socket? Pics? Location? Im not real mechanical so is there a type of shop that would do these things? I didn’t even think about testing these things prior to purchase IN 2023!!! Any recommendations? TIA
Thanks!
I’m not sure what your center armrest is but I installed this and it doubled the speed from the gmc built in wireless charger. I read the comments which kind of went all over the place. It’s super clean without the hassle of rewriting the existing ports. Not as fast as the 120v comment but an alternative. Just another option to think about.
