What's new

Steely Dan - AT4X AEV

I went with the Garmin Power Switch. Mainly just didn't want to have to run cables through the firewall.

Got my electrical inspiration from the guys over at Blaze Off-Road. They have some cool installs for Tacomas and 4Runners that i adapted for my truck.
Very interesting; I will look into that if my idea fails. I'm want to try something I can integrate with the Infotainment system, if I can get it to work.

Power Switch is what I ordered Saturday. I think it's probably the best solution...especially since you can use it with Apple Car Play on the trucks screen.

Did either of you load the Garmin app to your Infotainment system yet? Says
Available for download in the Google Play™ store. I could not find it on Google Apps on the Infotainment system.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride! Just out of curiosity, who was your salesman at Covert? I think my nephew is a salesman there

just like @bookemdanno said, you have the app on your phone and you can use the app with CarPlay. You can use the app on your phone up to 50 ft away too. It is quite handy
I want to avoid need/use of the a phone interface entirely if possible, it becomes very driver/phone specific. Let me see what I can churn up before I go that route. A solution may have to wait a week or two.

On a different note, I'm looking forward to the Comeup winch installation at the dealer tomorrow; playing around with it will keep me amused for a day or two, may even get to pull a vehicle or trailer out of a ditch this weekend while riding through a rough steep gravel trail in BC.

What's the load rating for the new winch? Is it the 9000lb one that is used for the 1500? I'm jealous, I want to out one on mine. Even saw on YouTube a guy putting a warran 10000lb winch on his at4x behind his aev bumper. Took some trimming and some time but he was able to make it work.

12,500lbs
Part No Comeup winch: 19435527
Part No for the installation kit by AEV: 19435528

On mine, you don't even have to pull up the app on your phone if you don't want to. you hit the squares on the bottom left of the CarPlay Screen and swipe to the app and it pulls up the interface. I will take some pics shortly.

I saw that video too, trimming those mounts and not re-installing one of the mounting bolts makes me a little hesitant to go the route they went

I’m at the dealers while they install the Comeup Winch and it may take most of the day. I’m working from their lounge.
