Hey yall,

Wanted to introduce myself and my new truck. Steely Dan is my 2024 AT4X AEV Edition in Sterling Gray Metallic with the 3.0 L Duramax.

This truck blows me away every time I hop in the driver seat. I am currently building it to be a hybrid overland and daily driver.
I love the name you gave your truck. I named mine White Privilege(I’m not white)

Welcome, nice truck. On your back bumper, what lights do you have installed into the AEV bumper? Looking to set up my off road lights on mine, but was trying to see how and what lights work with the AEV bumpers.

Those are the Baja Designs Squadron Sport. AEV sells the brackets that mount in that location. They recommend the Baja Designs #550006 3″ square LED lights for ease of installation. You have to cut the plastic trim piece to open up the space for the light.

I have those lights, just waiting for brackets to arrive. I noticed the lights are larger than the the plastic trim hole and shine through the hole; was it not possible to open up the square hole even more to have full 3"x3" lights stick out through the hole flush with the bumper? Can you take a closeup photo please.

Thank you for the info, I will be ordering those soon.

Some billet shackles like this from Reno would look nice on that AEV front bumper. They have a 7/8” pin

I like those shackles much more then the ones i put on mine. Do you have a few pic with them installed, and possibly a link to where i can research them?

I’m still waiting for my winch bumper. I didn’t get the AEV. I will post pics in a few weeks. I got mine on Amazon. 68k working rating

They will sit behind the trim piece. Obviously some light is lost but I think it looks a little cleaner and protects the light not being flush mounted.

Which version of lights did you get? I specifically ordered and have the Work Scene ones. Having see your closeup, I think I'll stick to the same if enough light gets out, rather than butcher the opening.

Those are the Squadron Sport with Amber Work/Scene Lens. I went with the amber because here in TX, you can't have any white light pointing to the rear besides reverse lights. So if I wanted to use the lights on the road in an emergency in a strobing manner, it would be a violation. (former Sheriff's Deputy here)

The lights were the first mod I did because I had the lights from my old truck and the reverse lights with the back up camera were lacking.

Awesome! I have exactly the same ones; Squadron Sport with Amber Work/Scene Lens. What have you connected them up to? Indepedent switch or something else?

I went with the Garmin Power Switch. Mainly just didn't want to have to run cables through the firewall.

Got my electrical inspiration from the guys over at Blaze Off-Road. They have some cool installs for Tacomas and 4Runners that i adapted for my truck.
