Rear suspension noise

I just left the dealership with the same issue. Mine is on the drivers rear. When I back over a crown or a bump it makes a weird popping noise. I have 1777 miles on mine. The dealer stated that they tried everything GM said, and no change. So they called GM and they stated it’s a known problem but no fix. There is a bulletin on 21-22 trucks but not the 23. Said to call back every few months to see if there is a fix. 🤷🤷🤷🤷

Dealer replaced my leaf springs, the noise is gone.
How did you convince them of this? I talked to GM and they said there was no fix for this yet so they couldn’t do anything. Any pointers of what to tell GM to have them replace the leaf spring. I even told them they needed to replace it. But they stated there was no guarantee that would fix it so they did not wanna attempt a possible fix. Until it was a known fix. TIA

They proactively did it. I had 1100 miles on the truck, they agreed it wasn’t right, they knew about the history of leaf spring problems and so they just cut right to the chase. As the service manager said “you paid a lot of money for this truck, it should be right - we will take care of it”.

Thank you for the info. I’m going to call my dealership back in the morning and have a chat with the service manager. Your dealership was right this truck cost way to much money to have any issues. And if issues arise then they should be addressed immediately. I did have the P0402 check engine light come on about 2 months ago. I knew what the deal was because of Demonworks on YouTube has the same truck and he came out with the video of what the fix was. I told them when I took it in and they fixed it immediately. Maybe when I have a chat with them they will be willing to put a new leaf spring in. I love this truck but that annoying popping is getting on my nerves.

Most dealers should be familiar with this spring issue. Mine knew what the problem was from prior experience and me suggesting that’s what it might be. I believe they had to open a “ticket” with GM - not sure what that is. Now I don’t know if my dealer ate the cost of the springs or how they got GM to approve them, but either way they didn’t bother me with any of that.

Also, it took them a few weeks to get the new springs since they were “back ordered”.

I've been looking everywhere to see any posts on this. I've got a 23 AT4 1500. Something in the rear is making a clicking noise going from drive to reverse etc. Saw the video someone posted, mine is much higher pitch metallic sound. No driveshaft play. Dealer couldn't find anything. Trying again this week.

I have this exact same noise from my 2022 refresh GMC Sierra 3.0 diesel. Its currently also in the shop. The noise is driving me nuts. I was asked to return to the dealer to take it for another test drive. "They can't duplicate the noise." I actually put a go pro up in the rear wheel well and sent it to them. I thought it was only coming from the rear but asked the shop guy to step out and he said sounds like the front then also sounds like the rear. I stuck between brakes and leaf springs. The shop guy tried telling me drive shaft and that might need grease, then oh my be a butter fly valve in the exhaust pipe, These new diesels need a lot of back pressure. I told him oh yea seems pretty strange. I have heard it on two other new GM trucks.

This truck has 18000 miles on it, i told them to keep it til they figure it out. kinda happy to hear isn't not just my truck but the fact no ones what it is might be a little alarming. Any ideas so i can help them pin point it?

I have two go pro videos to also load but the one included is me next to the truck.

I have more of a clunk, than a click, but I definitely believe it’s the leaf spring. Driver side. Gonna run it by the dealer.
