New Owner & Bed Cover

Just like you I’ve been looking all over the web with very little images of any GMC HD 2500 AT4’s with the Diamondbacks. I’m currently waiting for my HD AT4 to arrive in a week. Il be hauling strainer but so r need access to the bed for a 5th wheel for many years. If we upgrade in 5-6 years down the road once the daughter is off to school then I could always remove it.
I’m thinking of the

Anyone have any experience with the 270 version? I like the idea of the portion close to the cab how it opens to the side and having access to storage boxes for fishing and camera gear when traveling.

That looks ingenious. Almost turns the bed into a crossover toolbox.

Hi all - I bought a 2025 2500 AT4 one month ago and have loved it. I looking into a bed cover and really like the Diamondback options due to their security & seal. However, finding pictures of one on a 2500 seems hard to locate.

Does anyone have pictures they can share? Or any pros/cons from their experience with Diamondback?

The only con I can think of initially is not having the ability to use the entire bed at ease & covering the 5th wheel access. Not as concerned about the 5th wheel based on my use.
Which version of the Diamondback are you looking at? I like the idea of the 270 but just realized I would have to drill a few holes in the front of the bed for that version if I’m reading the directions correctly. Not crazy about drilling holes in a new truck. I like the HD for the fact it can withstand heavier loads.

Hey, it's your truck! Do as.you wish!

Back in the 70's crossover toolboxes came with the appropriate bolts to use, with instructions on hole placement to drill in the bed rails. CB radios required holes in the dash for mounting along with a big ass hole in the center of the roof most time for an aerial.

We never once gave it a second thought. We made them ours. We'd wax'em every weekend and enjoyed them.

Now they are the price of a fine house in the 70's, but a person should still be able to do to them as you wish and enjoy them.

I was between the Switchback & HD, but am going to move forward with the HD. Like you, 5th wheel isn't a priority for me (at least for a while). I liked the "rugged" look to it.

I remember drilling hole into my truck back in the day but that was when my parents paid for it and I didn’t think twice. Now dropping $80,000+ it’s hard to put a drill to it. 😊
The more I look and think about it, I like the HD version for the added load capabilities.
