Easy fix/test for the Ping sound.
1. Unplugged the yellow and black wire connection. Yellow= Positive and Black=Neg
2. Remove the yellow wire from both connector ends. (A baby flat head or similar can be used to press the little metal tab down to release the wire)
3. Hook the yellow wire (do not cut)on the AmpPro side to a +12v always hot wire. If you’re using the blue AmpPro remote wire to turn on your amp, disconnect and use the yellow wire (do not cut)on the truck harness side as Remote turn On for AMP.
4. Plug the black wires back together.
Now your AmpPro should stay ON all the time (it only uses around 0.5 amp=take weeks to drain your battery) and amplifier will cut ON like normal with ignition.
Test- if the AMPPRO was causing the PING sound it should never happen again. If the PING continues, it’s the truck sending the PING.
If the truck is making the sound.
-many amplifiers and DSPs have a power ON delay. Add 5-10sec should work.
-Or add a Time delay ON circuit to the remote wire. Like
This and set for 5-10 seconds.
- if you do either time delay options you can connect the yellow wire back with the original connector:
A lot easier and cheaper fix than buying NAVTV unit if your truck makes the DING sound
