New 2024 2500 AT4X

now for the exit vehicle setting. what is that exactly?

i see you have the under seat storage in your sig. can you snap some pics of that for me? how do you like it vs the oem configuration.
It is Exit Recall. In the Infotainment Screen: Go to Settings > Vehicle > Seating Position > Seat Entry Memory and Seat Exit Memory. Disable it before you save Seat Postion. When Enabled, the seat moves back when you open driver door and appears to reset amongst other things, seat lumbar settings etc. which I found very annoying since I prefer no lumbar support. Try it and let us know it it worked.

My under seat storage is simply the included OEM underseat storage solution with a bundled option; do you still need to see some pics? Others have installed aftermarket underseat storage solutions such as pull out side drawers etc. mine is nothing fancy and is extremely useful for vehicle related stuff. A few have installed compressors etc. in that space.

thanks for the assistance on the exit seat position. no need for the pic. i thought you had the factory optioned under seat storage.

Got back from my trip yesterday. Got the truck 8.6/100 = 27.3 mpg pretty much all highway. Mix with ac on and off. 24’ 2500 duramax

Welcome to the Forum. Wow ! That's incredible ? I had a 2018 Sierra Denal 1500 with a 6.2 gas. Best I ever got was around 9.3 L/100( I'm in Canada as well, Ont.) That was on a drive Hunstville,ON area. Never really did a long road trip with it,I'm sure it would of did even better straight highway. Congrats on the new truck. Enjoy (y)

Have had it almost for a year now lol I’m in BC Okanagan. Took it for a trip BC to Calgary back in June. At the time got it to 8.8L/100 probably could have made it on one tank but we stayed a couple nights on Revelstoke.

Going to be trying out some amsoil products for my truck and wife’s Yukon 5.3. Hopefully for longevity of the engines and mpg boost.

I'm giving hotshots a go for an additive. I'll use the EDT on every fill and the extreme every 6000 miles. It's more readily available and seems to have all good reviews

once again, new to diesels, now that the temps are getting cooler in the morning (45 degrees this morning), what is the best practice in letting the truck warm up? my truck does have the high idle option.
what about plugging in the truck? is there a certain temp i should be doing that?
its not super cold in my region but from time to time, temps will drop to the single digits and maybe to 0 degrees. but for most of our winters, temps are at or above 20 degrees.
Thank you for your guidance on this

OM says for ease of starting to plug in at 0°F. The L5P starts very easy way past zero.

Treat your fuel with an anti-get at every tank below 25°F. Do a search for what you like, as there are many. Personally I use OptiLube xpd year round. I buy their 6pak ammo case for the 6.6 and the 8pak for the 3.0 and throw it in the toolbox. Then I buy the 5gal bucket to refill the single use bottles.

Your truck should have a setting for elevated idle. Use that and let the ecm control the idle. At 32° and below, I let the engine idle for a few minutes before takeoff. And then drive moderately till the temp comes up. At 0°, even longer.

To add...basically once you get around the fuel requirements and are above 0°, treat as you would any other vehicle. It's not only the engine your dealing with but also the tranny and axles lubes.

One other thing worth mentioning if you're around 50% remaining fuel filter life around Halloween, change the filter. 1, you don't want to be changing a filter in a snow bank. 2, carry a spare filter in winter with a 36mm socket. I carry a filter at all times.

While we are talking diesel and winter, gm has shitty def heaters. Run your def level at ½ or lower. It takes less time to un-thaw, not running the heater as long.

i haven't seen a setting for the idle but it has kicked up the last couple mornings on startup.

good info. Thank you for sharing.

what are the preferred fuel filters for this truck or does it matter?
seems like its pretty simple to swap out. i'll need to check if i have a 36mm socket though.

OEM and not from Amazon. Heard of counterfeit being sold on there.

I do use a Baldwin PF46126.

AC Delco is oem correct?

So I'm looking at the bakflip mx4 or the Rev one that gm offers.
Is there much or any difference in the two?
I've got points to use so I could put that towards the rev one. But if the bak mx4 is just a better cover, I don't mind paying for it.
