Was the fix just a programming update or what? Trying to decide if I'm going to wait for my ventilated seats retrofit or if it would be fast enough to make a quick appointment and wait to get the tailgate fixed.

I think it was just a programming fix.

This weekend I was using my tailgate and it was locking itself out of doing any opening with the upper small part open. I can also now hold the button for 3 seconds and enable disable the small section opening. This did not work previously so somewhere along the way one of these over the air updates has changed the behavior.

Anyone who was unable to properly lockout before might want to give it a try now.
