Kicker speaker issue

Also I seem recall a inline fuse holder in that 7way tee harness supplied with the kicker.

Something like this...

Thank you again! Do you know where this is located on the truck? Near the kicker? When I had done some online searching for answers about the kicker not working/being dead, I saw a post somewhere where some said there was a fuse behind the rear license plate, but I removed the license plate and could find no fuse.

Yes, it would be behind the license plate area. More like behind the receiver hitch tube. The kicker has a 7way harness that tee's into the 7way harness. It would be behind and drivers side of the spare tire.

Somewhere in that mess of wires would be the inline fuse. The kicker harness runs behind the spare tire, routed between the receiver and bumper heading to the drinkers side. You should see the harness when you drop the tailgate, between it and the bed, ziptied to the harness for the tailgate. Just follow it.

Thanks again for more specific info! I will try to look in that area tomorrow for the fuse. I do have to take my truck in for warranty work as the rearview camera mirror hasn't worked for about a month now, and it was not quite right from when I bought the truck new, but if I can find that fuse box for the kicker, that is one less thing the dealership will need to look at to fix.

I have been having same issue, checked inline fuse behind bumper and it works, and #63 fuse in box under the hood works.

What other trouble shooting should I look for? Have no power going to the Kicker. Thanks!

You could unscrew the kicker speaker (I think it’s only 6 screws) and look at the amp and see if it came unplugged. It’s just a wiring harness on the side of the amp. Also check for Power there. The amp may have a fuse on it as well.

got it will give a try thank you

My kicker system sounds like crap…anyone else feel the same?

My wife's 2020 AT4 3.0 Carbon Pro has the Kicker, and it sounds horrible. Low volume and terrible sound.

My 2023 AT4X has the Kicker and it sounded good. When it worked. Hasn't worked for months and I haven't had time to take it to the dealer. My rear view mirror cam hasn't worked for at least 2 months either, I will be taking my 23 AT4X to the dealer next week to hopefully have them fix both of those issues.

But the Kicker on the 23 AT4X is way better than the one on my wife's 2020 AT4 carbon pro. They upgraded it somehow, even though it looks the same on both vehicles.

I have a 2022 AT4 and it sounds pretty good
yes. no bass and sounds like a 1930's mic. Maybe the soundtrack to O' Brother Where Art Thou would sound fitting on this system. Curious if anyone has swapped out the speakers or found a way to beef up the system.

I would like to know this also. My kicker has not worked for a couple of months now on my 23 AT4X. Just won't come on or turn on. Completely dead. I was going to use it for music on the jobsite, and have not been able to find a fix via online searching or trying to figure it out on my own with the truck. If it is as simple as a blown fuse, I would just replace the fuse. Don't want to take it in the the dealership and have it sit there for a day (this is my only vehicle) while they try to figure it out.
its a weird connection set up. check the manual again and when cycling through the source devices, give it 10 seconds each time you press the button to switch sources. If its not coming on at all, that another story.

Unfortunately it's just not coming on at all. Like dead/no power. It worked just fine up until a couple months ago, but been dead since. My wife's Kicker on her 2020 AT4 Carbon Pro works still, but it always had terrible sound - low volume and terrible sounding audio. My Kicker sounded way better, so they must have upgraded the Kicker somehow between 2020 and 2023.

I hope to get a chance to go to the dealer this week and schedule an appt for the Kicker and more importantly for my camera rear view mirror, which has not worked in over two months now. Just been too busy these last couple of months to afford to have my truck at the dealership for a day for issues like this.

Just for anyone that comes across this in the future, there is a TILT switch that automatically cuts power off to the amp in the tailgate when the tailgate is up. When the tailgate is opened, the tilt switch will "turn on" and allow power to pass thru to the amp powering up the Kicker system. The tilt switch is a giant POS and constantly burns out. I've seen quite a few trucks with bad switches. Easiest fix is to just bypass the tilt switch. Either bypass it and just use the on/off switch on the Kicker control panel, or wire in a simple on/off switch so you can turn it on/off.

Although unrelated, since our truck does not have a tailgate open alarm (except an inner tailgate open alert) and since I never drive with the tailgate open, I built a tailgate open alarm. Not wanting to rely on the tailgate tilt switch, I instead used a magnetic proximity switch to trigger an alarm I cobbled together using a bluetooth remote switch, the remote end triggered by the proximity switch and the alarm somewhere below the glove box.
