I’ve noticed my kicker tailgate speaker has been turning on while the tailgate is up here recently. My phone had been connecting to it while driving down the road.
I’m guessing the auto sensing switch in it is bad.
Anyone had this issue? Thinking of just cutting the power wire in it and hooking up a power switch just so it doesn’t turn on and I don’t know it and drain my battery.

Have not had that issue with mine, yet. I'd file it as a warranty claim and let them figure it out unless it is out of warranty period. Then the switch idea sounds like a good plan. Document it if you do as others here may encounter this problem and do the same.

I have had this happen a few times. I went on to my phone and had it "forget" the kicker speaker, and no issues since then. Just reconnect to the bluetooth when I need to use it.

Anyone have any idea which fuse is for this I think my blew my speakers are not working at all but they have been previously

I find anytime I open my inner tailgate, the music starts off of last phone synced to it, even if I power it off before closing the tailgate. Next time-back on

YES!!! We have had issues. The speaker just picks up and comes on at random times. GMC swears they have not heard of this issue and claims it does not drain the battery. We are on our 4th battery.... I would say its an issue. 2019 GMC Sierra. Document it with GMC just in case

Mine was out of warranty. I bought it from a dealer aftermarket and it only has a 1 year warranty. Missed it by a month.

It’s a really easy fix. Just unscrew 6 bolts. Cut the yellow wire going to the amp. Add a $8 switch from autozone and it’s fixed. Took about 30 mins.

I would like to know this also. My kicker has not worked for a couple of months now on my 23 AT4X. Just won't come on or turn on. Completely dead. I was going to use it for music on the jobsite, and have not been able to find a fix via online searching or trying to figure it out on my own with the truck. If it is as simple as a blown fuse, I would just replace the fuse. Don't want to take it in the the dealership and have it sit there for a day (this is my only vehicle) while they try to figure it out.

I would think it would have to be one associated with the trailer lights harness. That’s where it gets its power from when you install it.

Thanks for the info! I will have to look into those fuses.

Make sure your fuse for the 7way 12+ trailer supply is good, in the underhood fuse box. I don't recall the number, but it is a 30amp.

Thanks, I will check. Everything for my trailer lights/brakes/etc works. Pull my job trailer almost every day. Not sure if that matters or not though.

All the lights and trailer brakes will work. There is another fuse for 12+. This circuit will charge a trailer battery like on a dump trailer. That circuit is the 12+ for the tailgate kicker.

Also I seem recall a inline fuse holder in that 7way tee harness supplied with the kicker.

Something like this...

That is good to know that the trailer lights/misc trailer stuff will still work as it is on a different circuit!
