High Clearance Steps

I got tired of the high step as well so I ended up ordering some brackets for the standard GM chrome steps and swapped them out for the high clearance brackets. I didn't measure how far it actually dropped the steps but it made a big difference as it's much easier climbing in the cab now. I liked the look of the high clearance steps and the new brackets bolted right up without any issues.

That was a good idea and something I should have thought of! Now I’m trying to sell the high clearance steps with no luck.

I have the Westin side steps on my AT4 but had electric GM ones on my 2018 Denali. Both have their pluses and minuses but after replacing and bending the Westin brackets back into shape after off roading, going to install AMP electric steps. My Westin steps started rusting after 2 years and I am to the point where they need to be recoated. My elderly parents are able to get in the truck with either set but for me fixed, easy access steps and off roading aren’t a good fit.

There must be enough of a difference between the 1500 and 2500 because I bought the same brackets but they don't begin to fit on the truck or the step bars.

That stinks, the Ebay store that I bought from says they fit 1500, 2500HD & 3500HD
